My family and I visit this new addition to the neighborhood two days ago and we were delighted. The staff is friendly, chatty and happy to give recommendations and explain the dishes for the less literate in Indian food.
We had Onion Bhaji and veggie samosa for starters and Chana Massala, Veggie Korma, Bhindi Bhaji and Aloo Gobi as mains. On the side we had garlic naan, basmati rice and Kashmir rice. The samosas were tasty and the pastry was of the thick kind, sort of my fav. Chana Massala and Veggie Korma were outstanding too. However, the best dish was the Kashmir rice -Kashmiris are an ethnia typically from Cambodia, wonder if it has something related to the dishe's name- On the not so tasty side was the Bhindi Bhaji (Okra) were the spices and the texture weren't exactly how I remembered them from other restaurants.
Taste accommodates also to the Spanish, and probably South European, palate and most curries have options for soft, hot or very hot versions.
All in all the experience was great and had a good time with my family. We most likely will...
Read moreWe were searching for our final sangria after two weeks of travelling in Spain. We were not expecting to find it at a Hindi restaurant! Hassan welcomed us in as we strolled by. Said he would absolutely make us a pitcher of sangria. We could not deny his hustle and his magnetic personality. Hassan brought us a pitcher of sangria made with lots of fresh fruits, and complemented it with a plate of chicken tapas. We were so pleased with the entire experience. Thank you, Hassan, for making our last drink in Spain so very special. I highly recommend the Holi House Madrid...
Read moreThis indian restaurant located on almansa has a couple decent options, but most of the dishes are lacking in flavor and the meat quality is low. Their lamb shish kabob is very dry and served on a sizzling platter which makes no sense, all it does is dries out the meat and creates smoke, it needs more spices. Their vegetable samosas are pretty good. The other dishes like the curries and tikkas have very little flavor and even when ordered spicy, are not spicy at all. The pricing is high for this quality and it came out to 100 euros for the 5 of us. The lunch menu is more worth it. The service was apathetic and a little slow. Beware the fake...
