I had high expectations taking my daughter and her friend to the restaurant on Sunday. The service was initially great. We had a couple of appetizers and then some sushi. I'd read from other comments that the food was maybe lacking some 'kick' or 'taste' - I'd go with that view - it did taste quite the same as other (less expensive) sushi places in Madrid. On a side note, Madrid is not a sushi hotspot, but Kippu describes itself highly as "like experiencing Japan in Madrid". I think to be fair Umiko is better placed to herald such a statement. At the end of the meal, which was 4 star, a waiter who we had not seen before brought over what I can only call "chicken fried ice cream". What was this? I don't know, but it tasted like vanilla ice cream battered in the same oil and breadcrumbs as chicken or tempura. To me it tasted revolting - for my vegetarian daughter, it was worse. I was expecting 5 stars, the service was good, the food lowered it to 4 stars and then this 'what ever it was' ice cream free gift, left us with a very bad taste and Kippu with a 3 star rating. Don't write back - because I...

  • too full for covid times *

Wow- this restaurant has amazing quality fish ! I absolutely loved the food we ordered (except for the spicy tuna- it was too sweet for me) !

The staff was so friendly and very helpful. I ended up ordering exactly what the waiter recommended, and everything was delicious ! My boyfriend and I shared- a sashimi platter, pork dumplings, two orders of some type of sushi "ball" (amazing flavors and a specify to this restaurant) , crunch roll and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was my least favorite, everything else was unbelievable flavorful! We also ordered hot sake! It pared so nicely with the sashimi !

The interior is decorated very nice and modern.

The only negative thing I could say is that for being in times of covid, the restaurant was packed. I felt that there wasn't enough space between the tables to feel 100% relaxed. I purposely made a reservation right when they opened, at 8pm, to try and avoid a packed restaurant. I don't know what the rules in Madrid are at the moment for restaurants, but for me it was a bit too crowded...

We had a truly wonderful experience at this sushi place! From start to finish, everything was excellent. The sushi was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed the special of the day, which was packed with unique flavors and clearly made with care.

A big shoutout to Michael, our waiter, who made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all our questions with patience and gave us great recommendations, especially when it came to explaining the specials. His service was outstanding — always checking in at the right time and making sure we were taken care of without ever being intrusive.

Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. We’ll definitely be...

This is a Japanese/Chinese fusion restaurant with modern Asian decor and comfortable seating. The waitstaff are very friendly and ready to help. We tried the Suma Maki, Soft Shell Crab, Aburi Uramaki, and Yakimeshi Pato. All the dishes were very good, and I especially liked the last two. With the discount from The Fork, we paid about 58 EUR including drinks. This is an above-standard Asian restaurant. If you want to experience fine Asian cuisine, this is the place to try. The portions are not very large, and the prices are a bit high, but the ambiance is cozy and suitable for work parties.
