Bless is an example of one of the few hotels in the world that genuinely offer a no-compromise luxury service. From their staff friendliness and willingness to deliver an unforgettable experience, to the fantastic amenities in every nook and cranny. The hotels approach to natural light means everywhere you'll see daylight shining down and brightening up rooms and walkways.
Easy to get to and with a taxi rank outside the hotel, you won't have any issues navigating around, and staff are more than willing to speak on your behalf and ensure there is never any confusion. That said the hotel is within walking distance of all the major sights, or if you want a quicker experience the underground is outside too.
The reception and staff are attentive, speak an impressive range of languages all to a very high standard, and constantly work to ensure you are having the experience you want.
The rooms are clean, come with a turn down service in the evening, and the beds are comfortable and absolutely massive. The TV in the room can also be connected to if you wish to cast your favourite shows from your laptop or device. The curtains had two sets which were automatic, simple start to move either of them and let the machine do the rest. The sofa was extremely large and comfortable which made it easy to relax as you wanted. You did have basic coffee making facilities along with a modest small mini bar which I didn't use.
The bathrooms were stunning, my room had a standing bath tub, along with a shower room (two heads available), dual sinks, and a separate toilet. I will say I found the bathroom having windows with soft see through blinds not to my liking, and the toilet was behind blurred glass but nothing was left to the imagination. We found it funny and not a problem but being able to control the blinds or curtains in the bathroom would have given an extra level of privacy. If this is your first romantic getaway you may find yourself learning more about each other than you hoped. The toiletries provided were extremely high standard and always topped up, they also provided some common items and packs such as make up remover and comb.
The food service was fantastic, while I won't claim this is the best food in Madrid you will not be disappointed. The breakfast service was in a fascinating room and you could enjoy a hot cooked meal and drink alongside the buffet. I'd recommend the breakfast service as a great way to kick off the day with ease.
A special mention has to be made for the terrace and spa. The terrace and roof top pool were extremely sunny, and offered food service (lovely lunch to be had there.) The service was slower than you would usually expect, this was due to the high volume of guests and visitors all wanting photos and to enjoy the views, the staff were extremely busy and did push to offer the same attentiveness as the rest of the hotel but it was a losing battle. If you aren't in a rush and want to enjoy the pool, lay in the sun, or take in the views and have a drink, it's a fantastic spot to be. Don't expect a very fast service due to the number of people however this is to be expected and wasn't a disappointment.
The spa is small and in the basement. It has two showers, a steam room and sauna. There is also a jacuzzi in the middle. I'd say at best it would work for two couples. However, during our time we only saw one other couple who were waiting for a treatment and quickly moved on. You had the place basically to yourself. Well worth a visit. If the spa won't convince you the treatments will. I can say confidently this was one of the best couple massages I have experienced. The treatment rooms are extremely modern and relaxing, the staff are highly skilled, and the uncompromising approach to relaxation and luxury from the main hotel is present to. Without a doubt the highlight for me was the spa and the massage.
I would not hesitate to recommend Bless as the place to...
Read moreThis hotel has a big issue with the room temperature. I had a horrible experience and wish I never stayed here. I am pregnant and cam to this hotel inly to be extremely stressed every single night because an inept group of people could do something as simple as set a room temperature correctly. They don’t allow you to change the temperature from the room, you have to call the front desk and then they call some other department. So each time you feel the temperature isn’t right, for example at 1:00 am when your small child is sleeping in the room, you have to make a phone call that may wake everyone up instead of using the thermostat on the wall. They do have one, but it’s fake. It doesn’t actually change the temperature.
On our first night here the room was almost 23 degrees. After thinking I could change it myself and it waiting a few hours wondering why it wouldn’t work, I called. They then lowered it. An hour later my room was 18 degrees and we were freezing. I called again and they explained they are the ones that can change it, not you in your own room where you’re sleeping. The man was very rude.By then it was already 11:00 pm and we couldn’t sleep due to the ridiculous temperatures. They said they would set it at 20.
Another hour goes by and the temperature is still 18.5 which is about 64 Fahrenheit. I call again, still unable to sleep and they say again they’re going to adjust it. Then a few minutes later someone knocks on my door, past midnight, asking if I called for an issue with the tv!!! Meanwhile the issue I did have wasn’t being resolved.
I would caution guests to not stay here if they want to sleep at all. It has been an absolute nightmare. THIS HAPPENED FOR MANY NIGHTS. IT’S HORRIBLE.
The hotel is also mostly catering to people from outside so if you need a table at the rooftop or at the lobby restaurant you have absolutely no priority being a hotel guest. In fact if you are a guest waiting in the lobby for any reason, they will tell you very rudely to move because the tables are reserved for outsiders who have reservations and you can’t sit there to wait for your taxi even though they don’t have any other seating for their own guests.
Every single decent hotel I have stayed at gives its guests priority for all hotel amenities. This place has no idea what customer service means for a luxury hotel, which clearly...
Read moreLiked · The location of the hotel is very good. You are very close to many shops and park, anyway you have easy access to Taxi, metro or electric scooter to go around the city. You are 40 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor, but the metro is very convenient. The check-in procedure was great, as soon as I entered I was welcomed by the staff and they explained to me the different facilities of the hotel. The room was excellent, it was very spacious clean and comfortable. One of the most comfortable hotel room I have been so far. The bed was huge and there was a table and a sofa, that let us having dinner in the room a couple of time watching movie, just to chill out. There was a small balcony, but big enough to enjoy a beer looking at the city. The dressing room was quite big. Bathroom was good and clean, the shower was excellent, very big ... so I could relax there for hours. Wifi connection in the room was very stable and fast. Cleaning services pass a few times during the day, to be sure I didn't miss anything. And there was water bottles available every day (free of charges) We reserved a dinner at the hotel restaurant, Etxeko. The dinner was very good and the ambiance was very cozy. Waiters were nice and well prepared on food and wine selection. We had appetizer, main dish and dessert. All good. Great dinner. The cherry on the cake was the surprise for my birthday. During the reservation I told to the hotel I was celebrating my birthday in Madrid, and they showed up to my door with a balloon and a small cake. Very appreciated.
Definitely an excellent hotel, a lot of comfort at a reasonable price.
Disliked · I have only a few negative points.
Jacuzzi and GYM are very small (but anyway these are not the selling points of the HOTEL)
During the checkout procedure, I paid the total with a few extra (dinner and 2 cocktails) but the receipt was showed to me after I paid. Looking at the receipt there was a charge for a bag of snack, that I didn't take. No big deal as the misunderstanding was clarified and the price of the snack reimbursed. But I would have preferred to check the list of things to pay before actually charging them on the...
