Was looking forward to dining here for my brother’s last night visiting me in Spain, but the experience was such a disappointment. We had a 20:30 reservation but ended up getting to the restaurant quite early, content to just sit at the bar and wait until the dining room is open. Once we were seated at our table, the waiter didn’t go over any specials with us or explain the menu. He didn’t provide any help whatsoever. We ordered our food and as other tables around us started to arrive, their waiters explained the specials of the day and their recommendations. We got our plates fairly fast as we were probably the first to order our mains, but my dish (the lamb chops) looked haphazardly plated with no attention to detail. From the moment we were greeted, the hospitality was generous and impeccable. We were clearly one-time visitors from abroad but were treated to so many extra touches, from a free appetizer and truffles at the end, to the thoughtful touch of a non-alcoholic digestif for our son. The food was so flavourful and we were introduced to dishes we can’t wait to try recreating at home. What an incredible experience to dine like a local and be treated like one, too.
