Triana — Restaurant in Madrid

For those who have read a few of my reviews, you probably know how much I do not prefer traditional Spanish food on account of what I consider to be a lack of flavor and innovation. Therefore, when I give a Spanish restaurant five stars you know it has to be good. However, not just good in flavor but innovative as well.

Let's start with the restaurant. For a restaurant in the city it is quite roomy. Many tables litter the dinning area. Also, they have what looks to be a seating area upstairs (I’m not entirely sure since I didn’t venture up). The entire place has a rustic, secluded feel that transports you far from Madrid into a warm, relaxing environment.

The wait staff is helpful and friendly. We were served by three gorgeous and sweet ladies who ensured own meal and experience was top notch.

The food was portioned right and delicious. We enjoyed wine, vermouth, beer, carne, ox tail, fried eggplant and potatoes, and finished it all with a shot of sweet liqueur. The food was created with spice and flavor, which made the meal fantastic.

We ate at Triana in Madrid, after it was recommended by a member of staff at the Novotel, about 5-10 minutes walk down the road. We asked for a recommendation for somewhere that had nice food, and explained we had not really been anywhere that we had eaten nice local food.

At Triana they do have an English menu, but the staff in on the night that we went in did not really speak English. I do not say that as a criticism as we are in Spain, but more so to acknowledge that Marce who served us made so much effort to communicate with us and get us what we wanted. There were one or two things that got mixed up, but we did not mind as she worked with us to rectify any misunderstandings.

The food was truly delicious. We had the patatas frites, the croquettes, the dry rice with vegetables and chicken skewers to name a few and enjoyed it all. The dry vegetable rice was like paella and was really tasty- we were unsure when seeing it on the menu but so glad that we ordered.

Carta ,muy amplia y absolutamente todo , menos la torrija , sin gluten 👌🏻 Alérgenos correctamente etiquetados. Cocina andaluza , croquetas, ensaladilla, flamenquin , fritura 4 postres , igual lo más escaso 9/10

Cocina hemos pedido 📷 entrantes al centro salmorejo , buen sabor pero demasiado líquido, igual por ser sin gluten. 7/10 tortilla de camarones, bastante rica . 8/10 ensaladilla de marisco con gamba de cristal , bastante rica 8/10 coquinas, fuera de carta , riquísimas 9/10

📷 2dos ,han sido individuales salvo mi marido ,mi hija y yo q hemos compartido 2 puntillitas con parmentier de trufa y huevo . Muy rico , la camarera ha roto el huevo y mezclado sin preguntar y creo q debería hacerlo pq hay gente q prefiere separado 😅 8'5/10 tacos de solomillo con ajos , ricos pero ya sabéis q la carne y yo ...7,5/10

Además de los 2dos q he compartido he probado el flamenquin q estaba normalito (7/10) .

Señalar q han traído la brocheta de pollo quemada por un lado , yo la habría devuelto , mi madre tb ,pero los jóvenes son muy vergonzosos y era el plato de mi hijo...

Servicio, funcionamiento prácticamente perfecto a pesar de q el sitio estaba repleto . La chica q llevaba nuestra mesa una máquina! No tienen jarra de agua pero si vasos y nos ha traído tantos como hemos pedido . Todo muy bien 👌🏻, salvo la brocheta quemada 8/10

Relación C/P , 26 euros pp Me parece un precio buenísimo 6 bebidas , 3 entrantes + 1 tortilla de camarones para 6 , 7 segundos y 2 postres Raciones muy bien servidas . No habríamos podido comer más y ,al anotar la comanda, la camarera ya nos dijo q iba bien 8,5/10
