We visited this restaurant for dinner and hoping to get some delicious food but our experience was very bad. So we took Vegan tasting menu. Because their vegetable menu was with meat dishes so we couldn’t take that. Now in vegan menu we were served 4 dishes. First dish was a soup which was just okay. Second dish was boiled vegetables (broccoli, peas etc.) which taste nothing more than just boiled vegetables with salt. Third was boiled onion with sweet flavor along with paprika stew which was slightly bitter taste, could really finish it. Final dish was a soup of mushrooms with Spanish rice. Again couldn’t finish it as it has very dominating raw flavour of mashroom. Finally came desert in vegan menu. For desert they served us with fruits (ice cold) and almost frozen lime water. It felt like I am having breakfast. Seriously vegan menu is a joke. They charge same amount for vegan menu and put almost no effort to cook it well. If you are vegan I recommend you to look for vegan restaurant instead. This place might...
Read moreLa Huerta de Tudela is a simple, classic, high-quality restaurant. There is a strong focus on vegetables, which they seem to source straight from Navarre (where the town of Tudela is located). While you can order à la carte, their tasting menus offer great value for money. We had the tasting menu for €25 per person, which included two starters, one main and one dessert. All of them were excellently prepared and delicious. Some were more creative than others, but none was really outstanding or memorable. I was missing a "wow" moment. Still, La Huerta de Tudela is a safe bet if you're looking for elaborate yet...
Read moreThe food really lets this place down, especially anything with vegetables. The flavours were bland and really didn't match with the atmosphere of the place. It's such a shame because Madrid needs more vegetarian options, but more flavour is critical here. In particular, the artichokes tasted really bad and other dishes were drowned in salt. Portions were huge, but lacked finesse. The menu was very complicated for vegetarians, and having to read the very long menu off a QR code was jarring. Servers were sweet, if overly formal, but we had numerous scenarios of getting lost in translation between English...
