Not friendly at all. This is the gist of my review. My boyfriend and I walked over after leaving the Museo del Prado. We sat down and I am not even sure what the server said to us, but I replied "menus" with Spanish pronunciation, for which I was quickly corrected and told it was "carta". (Mind you I speak Spanish but am not always sure what things are called in different Spanish-speaking countries.) This was extremely unnecessary as the man knew exactly what I was asking for. Then he only brought us one menu, prompting my boyfriend to ask for a second. The waiter told him/us to be calm (tranquilo) which was also unnecessary. I understand that places like this do not need to be kind to their customers because they will always have them due to this being a busy area full of tourists who will never become repeat customers. I believe I heard a coworker of our server refer to him as Seba - short for Sebastian. Whoever he his, his customer service skills truly need improvement. We ended up leaving the table in search of an establishment with...
Read moreWe are from the United States and speak fluent spanish. Unfortunately, for us we did not know that asking questions would irritate the waiter since it is a tourist area, but we did. He was rude sarcastic and rushed to order food we were asking about without a confirmation that is what we wanted.(the place had three patrons with 12 empty tables) Needless to say we ate the ordered food. After being embarrased because the waiter loudly said this is not burger king this is a restaurant (BTW my grandomther just asked how long does the plate ususally take) i had to leave the table and use the restroom before i explained how customer service works . My experiance was awful and the food was not worth it, the potatoes were OILY, salmon was undercooked, and the waiter never stopped once to see how we are doing. We tipped and left but i would advise...
Read moreVery tasty and convenient set menu for 12€. The best soups to die for. Excellent location just across El Prado and the Botanical Museum, perfect also for a quick coffee! Been there several times and I love it, good quality and excellent flavor to all that we tried, they had a zucchini carrot soup that was so yummy!! Then a chicken in curry was perfect, and then desert and or coffee, we really enjoyed it, service was good, because we entered right before the rush hour (1:30pm) then they got really busy and no sitting available, during the summer time sitting outside is gorgeous. The area is really nice since you are just across the important spots in the city, such as the Prado museum, botanical garden, Thyssen Museum just nearby. The best of it all are the soups of the day! Absolutely fantastic!!! Do...
