Majaderitos — Restaurant in Madrid

Horrible and rude staff. Walked in and was not even acknowledged. Stood there for literally 5 minutes trying to get their attention. That completely failed! I'm a tourist from Australia and they could not understand me, or didn't want to understand me. I think it was the worst service I've had. Didn't bother explaining how to order and when they did, they put the food on the bar and didn't tell us it was ours. Another Spanish couple came in from the local hotel and they were treated respectfully. They were also served at their table by the waiter. This is not the first time this has happened in my one month trip to Spain. I fail to understand why some Spanish are so closed-minded as I come from a country that is so welcoming...

I arrived to Madrid during the country wide power outage and I had no Euros and obviously neither the ATMs or CC machines worked, I had no way to buy food or water….the owner showed me kindness and gave me a delicious Spanish Tortilla, bread and Water to take away. We had the traditional paella, the calamares fritos con salsa aioli y una hamburguesa clásica. The paella was delicious, you could tell they took their time to cook it as it was very well seasoned and the clams were perfectly cooked. The calamari was breaded very nicely and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with the burger, the combination of the meat, hand and cheese and as amazing. We got a free appetizer and dessert drink at the end.
