Fiancee suggested this place for dinner and I was a bit sceptical because of the pictures of the venue - usually if it looks 'cool', it's to compensate for the food quality. I was happy to be proven wrong!
We got in an early dinner, so we didn't need a reservation but I can imagine this place to get quite busy during peak times. Vibes inside were cool; the unique decor, music and wait staff added to the experience of dining in here.
We got the seafood paella to share and their speciality Sangria Loka. The sangria loka was good, I don't prefer it over a traditional sangria, but it's worth a try. Jug yields quite a few glasses.
The seafood paella was great, while not a 'traditional' paella, it's one of the best paellas I've had during my Spain trip. The citrus element added a brightness to the dish which was good. The paella itself had soccaratt, unlike many other places I've tried in Spain which were more like Paella flavoured risottos.
They serve the paella on paella dish that is quite large in diameter, BUT it's shallow. So it may look like a lot of food, it's not really that much. Between two people, my partner and I finished it off quite easily and ordered the chicken paella as well.
My praise ends here as it took 35mins for the chicken paella to arrive in a now relatively quiet restaurant (told it would take 25mins) and it wasn't as good as the seafood + no soccaratt on this one. Someone also decided to take control of the AUX cord at 6:30pm and killed the mood with the new music - I'm just nitpicking with this one haha.
Overall, a very solid place to...

Read moreWe decided to eat here based on the overall reviews, but should have looked at the lower rated reviews to make a decision.
Service: 1/10 – The ‘maître d'’ noted she could seat us but we would need to be done in an hour for a reservation. Our waiter had zero clue what was going on. We ordered croquettes, patatas bravas, bread and steak. Only the first two were delivered. Our waiter then brought us smoked burrata which we didn’t order. He then tried to deliver bottled water we didn’t order, and returned a third time to deliver tacos that we did not order. Each time he looked confused as we turned away what we didn’t order from him.
After 30 minutes from when the first dishes came out and with our hour almost up, we asked where the steak was. They hadn’t even started it. We asked to cancel it and pay so we could leave, and noticed we were also charged for bread that wasn’t delivered. Miguel, our waiter, had four tables to manage and could barely remember who ordered what.
Food: 5/10 – For the croquettes and fried potatoes.
Ambience: 7/10 – This is the modern day bar by which all else is measured. How cute is the place for influencers and their pics for social posts. Fun and cutesy and over the top with food containers and drink vessels.
Overall: Not worth the time or money. €40 for three drinks (two of which were sparkling water and one sangria), croquettes, potatoes, and for the cheese we didn’t order but...
