Daylight Robbery
I've eaten many pizzas in my time on earth, but I'm afraid to say this was by far the worst. After a lovely visit to the Reina Sofia gallery opposite, expectations were high for a nice late lunch at the Pinnochio Sánchez Bustillo, with the promise of freshly made pizzas and '100% natural ingredients'. Staff were friendly and service was swift, but when the pizzas arrived I was mortified. Small, over cooked, and tasteless, it was an awful exerience.
The beauty of pizza as a food is that it's cheap, simple and easy to make with fresh dough and ingredients. Despite the waiter's assurances, I'm certain this pizza had come straight out of the freezer. Absent was the taste of tomato, the mozzarella hard and bland. The addition of salt and chilli oil did nothing to mask the taste of violation which I felt at being charged over €10 for such a terribly disappointing margherita. You simply cannot charge customers this much for a pizza any supermarket could beat for the half the price.
It is clear to me now how this restaurant got...
Read moreBad, to be honest, I have a lot of things to say about it. Firstly, the beggining. They put on your table and offer you some bread, butter and potatoes chips, but the things you don't know is that you have to pay for it at the end. 2,64 euros, for something they give me and doesn't ask for, thats not a lot but not honest , you have to ask first if we wanna pay for it. Secondly, the pizza. The pizza was so thin, and there was nothing on it compare to a normal pizza, and the pizza is also very small. That was not really tasty. But can also talk about the receipe. I just asked because i was with a friend, to paid my part and the same for them. The waitress said "you can i said it before you eat" and I was so shocked, like, I have to paid for something (bread butter) that i doesn't ask for, and now you just critized me for that ? I mean i just ask you to do like the other restaurant, why are you so mean ? I was really patient about the whole dinner but thats too much, I just paid everything and go away. That was my...
Read moreSTAY AWAY! This is 150% a tourist trap, in front of museum Reina Sofia. The only Italian thing here is the name. Period. I was seated by the waiter, given a menu, then, after 3 minutes, the waiter brought unrequested bread+butter+potato chips, instead of asking if I was ready to order. Sent back all that stuff, ordered a draft beer and a Pizza Margherita, this latter being the acid test for any true (or wannabe) Italian restaurant. 15 minutes later they brought me a frozen "plastic" pizza, cooked in the electric oven, with tasteless tomato, tasteless cheese, partially uncooked on the bottom, covered by an excessive layer of low-quality vegetable oil. Desperately tried to give my pizza some taste by adding on top of it some oregano: nothing to do! Even the dessert was terrible: ice cream cup with 3 scoops, tasteless, with plenty of ice crystals inside, uneatable. Price: 18 euros, a theft. I wonder how this shabby restaurant is still...
