Still in Madrid tour, your Avenger keeps sending me places to go to analyse and evaluate, this time one next to Atocha train station, it looked pretty good from the outside and also cozy from the inside, a small place with a lot to offer.
Ventilation system was ok, no sound system, but design pretty interesting for a city as you can see from the pictures, your God wanted to mix some nature.
The menu offers a lot of options, including your God's favourite, protein, protein bowls and they even let you create your own brunch, in memory of the Divorcee friend, the Creator, so all divorced people can still create something else other than their own divorce, something that would let your Man happy and in exthase!
The food was pretty good, though a bit expensive, price is a bit too much, since you pay almost 6 euros for a smoothie, crisis is here and places still take advantage of people, The Impulsive would get mad with these prices, reason why is not given a 5 star evaluation.
In many ways is a good place to have some food before taking the train, but not to come from a distance just to try
On a other note, I ordered a normal croissant and as simple as that I get on my table a chocolate croissant, imagine I was allergic to chocolate as your Avenger is, this could've gone bad, both divorced and...
Read moreI went during brunch on a Sunday, maybe not the best idea as it was def prime time for eating. It's a cute, cozy and lovely atmosphere type of place. There were locals and tourists (given it's right across from Atocha) abound, but the wait wasn't too bad. They're community tables so it's a good opportunity to meet strangers and get cozy (so not the best if you want solitude).
Waitress was very friendly and patient with my very broken Spanish I learned over 20 years ago, but she seems to speak English fine as well.
The brunch special looked great, but too much food for me so I just went with a Benedict and croissant....and 2 coffees. It's def more pricey than local fare, but very yummy. For compare - most cortado and macchiatos I got during my stay were under 2€, this was I think 2.50€. Most café con leche or lattes I got were about 2-3€ this one was over 4€. Plus side is they had almond milk.
I don't eat pork while I'm stateside, but the jamón Benedict was so yummy and so was the chocolate croissant. I think it's worth the splurge, but I'll also easily spend over $100 on a food tour without question. I'd def return when I'm back in Madrid...
Read moreFor our US friends : This is a tourist trap! A shame for the European food chains! I'll explain: Everything is OVERPRICED and low quality! Prices not at all justified by the quality of products. Asking 9 euros for a "Benedict egg" which is actually - really 1 single egg on a burger bread with 2 thin slices of salmon. Price of production is maximum 3.5 euros. DYI at home, you'll be more satisfied. The eggs are UNDERCOOKED. I repeat what others said in the comments : do not take eggs cause you will eat raw whites! (See the photo) We had to ask to recook the egg, it was that badly made. The waiters are friendly but most probably over-working. It would be helpful for them if the director would hire an extra waitress. But hey, they do a shatloads of money for overpriced services so surely the director don't give a X. Make sure to double check the final price of your total command : we had the surprise that they charged us 20 euros more - they refund us by cash but still. Tiny pastrami sandwich for 9 euros....
