The place it's nice, but don't expect to bring your laptop. They won't allow you to use a normal table and will force you to sit in an uncomfortable hight chair without backrest and use a narrow wall table with minimum space.
I guess they'll do the same if you bring your iPad or even a book to read for a couple of hours. It's not the first time I see waiters telling people to move away to the tiny wall table when new customers come and don't have free tables.
In addition, the aircon is sooo cold and hits you directly in almost all tables. I saw people complaining about it before (even in winter!!), but they said they couldn't do anything. I guess they just want people to sit down for as less time as possible and leave space for others.
They should definetely improve the local and add one big table where people could be with the laptop next to each other. There's plenty of empty space in the local that could be optimized to have more customers at the same time. Even using square tables instead of the circular ones would help to put some tables together for big groups of people.
So basically, it's a good enought place with potential to be even better. So far, they don't want people like me as regular customers 20 days a month, so I'll have to stop coming and look for more workers friendly alternative.
Answer to the owner: Kind of funny tho. You guys definitely do not want people working with their computer, but if I go there 3 times a week to read a book for 3 hours each day, nobody will tell me anything. If I go there by myself and start using my phone to answer emails, to use whatsApp or Facebook, nobody will force me to move to the column in the middle. If I go there to just think and stare at the people passing by the window for hours, nobody will care.
It is not a co-working, I get it, but it is neither a library and you allow it. Where do you exactly draw the line? What exactly is a coffee place for? Because I would say it is usually a place in which you do whatever you want (read, study, think, talk, date, work...) while having a coffee or a cake just to be able to sit down there. Perhaps there's some people really valuing coffee, but when someone says "let's go for a coffee" they usually mean "let's meet somewhere and sit down". Coffee is just the excuse, not the purpose.
When you say "we don't want computers" I read "we don't want people to stay for long", which I understand in some way, but hey! At least be open about it and say it clearly. Do not deny it. Saying "we only want people who want to enjoy our quality products" sounds like the excuse, not the purpose.
Y te podemos asegurar que no hay nada hecho con la vocación de que las personas abandonen el local rapidamente, no tenemos la necesidad de actuar de dicha forma.
Every business tries to maximise its benefits, nothing new there. So it seems you have that necessity too. Otherwise you wouldn't ban people working with computers or place them in the most uncomfortable place in the café when the local is almost empty. Nobody would sit there otherwise, at least, this way, you won't...
Read moreExcellent third-wave coffee shop. This place is nothing if not consistent. Really enjoy the house blend they use. Every employee pulls a great shot. The steamed milk is always velvety and well-executed. The employees are also very friendly; I've had nothing but good experiences with all of them.
I don't typically enjoy cappuccinos in American cafés because of the over-aerated excessively-bubbly foam; however, at Rebel I really love the doble cappuccino. It's excellent. FYI, you should know that in Spain steamed milk and coffee drinks are not served "piping hot" like one would expect in the US, so if that's what you want, ask for the milk extra hot.
Also worth noting is that they have good cakes and pastries. They always have fresh baguettes which are delicious. They have fresh squeezed orange juice. And the few things I've had on the menu have...
Read moreGood coffee, not so good service. I used to come often to this place as I am a coffee lover. The thing is, whenever the place is half full, the dependants get anxious and can't handle the pressure, and as a result you obtain an awful experience. Last time I went for coffee beans, I knew what I wanted (no help required cause I already know their beans) and had to leave with no coffee because the dependant said it would take a lot of time. I could not understand, after visiting and buying many times the comment, specially when you are about to spend 30€ in coffee. Of course I am not coming back. 3 stars cause the owner is a cool guy, and his product is good, just pray for the place is empty or else to be fairly...
