Extremely rude customer service from the gentleman waiter. We sat down to only have a drink and got shouted at by this gentleman who I interpreted as saying that we cannot just have a drink. We were not hungry at the time, however I did ask if we could have a flan each to share, but judging from his shouting and facial expressions, we gathered this was not allowed either. It was very quiet in the seating area outside the cafe, so we don't really know what the issue was. It would be unfair of me to review the food or atmosphere, however this one gentleman was extremely unprofessional and very rude and we wonder if it was quiet in the restaurant because of...

A bar to drink and eat!

We came here as the final stop of a food tour and it was one of my favorite stops. We tried the pork belly, sardines, Spanish omelette, chorizo, and breaded eggplant with honey. All the dishes were delicious, but the breaded eggplant with honey was my favorite. The texture was kind of like tofu.

Drink wise, we had almost full glasses of vermouth. I usually don't like vermouth, but somehow vermouth on ice tasted like alcoholic coke zero.

It was a bit cramped as we were standing at the bar, and the servers sometimes pushed you out of the way. Otherwise, they...

The worst food we have ever had; even though the "rustic" bar feel of the place was...different...we had the milanese escalope and it was the worst food put in front of us that we left immediately.

Nice enough staff but no service either; we were shown where the menus were and to pick them up, we had to go collect our own drinks from the bar that they were just sat waiting to be served (note we were the only customers there) and as mentioned, food was so off putting we felt physically sick from the relentless greasiness and 0 flavour, we left.

Sorry...

Me and my boyfriend found this local bar in the middle of little square of Madrid and we just wanted to eat some local food and it was definitely a score. We ordered Sangria which is so refreshing and delicious and fried calamari ,one of the less oily and tasty calamari I’ve ever had, but real surprise was Artichoke dish with chopped ham with garlic sauce was just unbelievable tasty. It was our first visit to Madrid city and absolutely we loved it and we felt so lucky that we found this secret gem bistro/bar in the streets of Beautiful Madrid.
