You step into this small Moroccan gem in Madrid, and immediately, you know you’ve found something special. It’s not trying too hard—there’s no pretense, just an open kitchen, the sizzle of something amazing in the works, and the kind of warm, attentive service that makes you feel like they’re genuinely happy you’re there.
Let’s start with the couscous. The best I’ve had in town, hands down. Light, perfectly cooked, and the lamb—beautifully done, tender, full of flavor that speaks of care and time. You get the feeling they respect the food here, and that respect comes through on the plate.
If there’s one thing you’ll be wishing by the end of the meal—it’s that they’ll put merguez on the menu soon. Because if they do lamb this well, you know the merguez would be a revelation.
The surprise? The cheesecake. You think you’ve had every version of this dessert, but this one, with a touch of Roquefort, hits in ways you didn’t expect. That sharp, savory note? Brilliant. They took a risk, and it worked.

Read moreI happened to pass by Souksou and was instantly captivated by the delicious aroma wafting from the restaurant. I made a mental note to come back and try their food, and I'm so glad I did!
We ordered the baba ghanoush, chicken tajine, vegetarian couscous, and the tamarind drink. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the music too was lovely! The owners were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the entire menu to us in English.
The baba ghanoush was perfectly smoky, paired with bread that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The couscous was wonderfully soft, fluffy, and buttery, with flavorful vegetables that complemented the spicy sauce I ordered on the side. The tamarind drink was a refreshing, tangy delight that left our taste buds tingling.
The only downside was that we were so engrossed in our meal that we forgot to take pictures! I will definitely return to Souksou the next time...
Read moreAfter a long search in Madrid for authentic Moroccan cuisine, we finally found this gem. The food was exceptional — you can truly taste the freshness in every bite. I especially loved the iced tea, limonade with passionfruit — refreshing and not too sweet/sour.
We ordered the tajine, pastilla, and couscous — all absolutely 10 out of 10. The dessert was beautifully balanced, not too sweet, with a lovely mix of spices and flavors. We ended the meal with a real Moroccan mint tea, served in a traditional long glass — the perfect finish.
Thank you for bringing me back, even if just for a moment, to the land of my ancestors. My husband and children loved it too. We’ll definitely be back InshaAllah. Kind regards Fatima Zahra, Mohamed,...
