Vanille Bakery Lab & Café — Restaurant in Madrid

I’m always looking for a good bakery and decided to try this place out after seeing their astronomically high ratings. We came in in the morning so they had lots of pastries to choose from, we tried many things, but the show stopper was the Kouign amann. It is buttery, has the perfect amount of sweetness and a caramelized taste that reminds me of cannales…this is what dreams are made of. The lemon sueco is lightly sweet and has a great lemon taste. Their croissant is not like the industrial ones you get at most places in Madrid. The hazelnut brownie is gooey, intense and loaded with hazelnuts. We also tried their 100% whole grain bread, which tastes very high quality. They gave us a sample of their white bread and it is spectacular, it has a high moisture content and a very fermented taste. Next time we make a fondue we will try it again, because it seems like it would combine well. I was here multiple times at the beginning of the year.

To those tourist that like to enjoy great coffee and pastries, THIS IS your place to go, hands down.

The owners are amazing individuals and you should ask for their recommendation, cannot go wrong with any of it !

They also sell their own bread, we took the white bread with seeds and got one of their home made untables.

Overall, excellent experience.
