Today I visited La Plaza Puente Romano while staying at the Hotel Nobu Marbella, and I had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience with the team managing the venue.
I arrived with my girlfriend and, right upon arrival, we were told by a young staff member, who introduced himself as the manager, that we could only sit in a specific area or pay €200 per person. This, despite being guests at the neighboring hotel. The approach was aggressive, inflexible, and completely inconsiderate.
After insisting, we were placed at a table far from the main area, practically isolated. When I asked to move, they said it would be possible in 5 minutes. However, to my surprise, the same manager returned saying the new table would cost €1500. That same table was then given to friends of the manager, who were not even ordering anything. I have video footage of the table being used, although I didn’t capture the faces of the young people clearly.
What’s even more concerning is that I wasn’t the only one going through this. At the table we were seated, other guests were also commenting on being treated in a similar way, questioning the service criteria and the outrageous prices.
I have visited La Plaza Puente Romano on several occasions and have always appreciated the atmosphere, but this time it was clear the venue is being turned into a hangout for selected teenagers and friends of the staff — while real customers who value the experience and contribute financially are ignored.
I felt deceived, embarrassed, and disrespected in a place that presents itself as a symbol of premium hospitality. This behavior does not reflect the reputation that Nobu Marbella and the Puente Romano complex claim to uphold.
I sincerely hope that management takes notice and acts urgently, as this kind of conduct directly harms the venue’s image and drives away loyal guests who expect...
Read moreI’m not sure what’s happened to this place, but it gets more and more uncomfortable on each visit, and I think this one is our last.
As with other reviews, the miserable hosts at the desk not only look at you like you’re a pain for wanting to to in, but also apply a “no shorts” policy when they feel like it, giving you a good look up and down whilst they decide what to do with you - I mean it’s 36*c in August, you’re hardly going to turn up in a dinner suit & fur coat. Still, we all had chinos/dresses on so we were let in - lots of other people though had shorts on and were turned away, yet people were already in the “plaza” area wearing shorts. Go figure that one.
The seat cushions are filthy with bird droppings a plenty - hardly the ideal environment to sit before going for dinner.
Service is hit and miss - some pleasant servers some absolute horrors.
Drinks are exceptionally expensive, but that’s in keeping with the location - don’t go there expecting much change from €100 for four gin and tonics.
However, the thing that really got me this time which seemed to be new, was that there were no less than NINE bouncers (at 20:00) watching absolutely everything that was going on, hanging out at the various entrances etc. Why they need nine is anyone’s guess, but I’d assume it’s to do with controlling some of the absolute bizarre entitled people who rock up here - their presence is even more obvious than it has been in years gone by. Clearly, La Plaza is attracting potentially the wrong type of people and that’s a tragic shame.
There are other pre dinner drinks places to go in the Puente Romano/Nobu hotel complex - it saddens me to say but don’t waste your time here. Not until they’ve sorted...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted by the service I received tonight. Myself and my family a party of 4 females and 1 male decided to go to la plaza under the impression it was a safe, sophisticated and classy. We were stood beside a table where we had conversation between ourselves, however the only male in our party was approached by a male on the table next to us. We had not spoken to anyone and this male specimen decided to tell the male in our party to stop what he was doing because he was with 4 females. He had not done anything what so ever and we were utterly confused which ultimately escalated to this creatures security becoming violent and aggressive. This reaction then became a whole situation where la plaza security became involved - without even evaluating the situation they too became violent and aggressive towards a single male who had not done anything what so ever to warrant this behaviour. After multiple attempts to calm the situation la plaza security violently dragged my friend out, a single male which had resulted in him being left with injuries which medical attention - even after informing the security that we were leaving due to the bad atmosphere, they were viscous and feral. I firmly believe this behaviour was a result of catering to a customer with apparent higher wealth. If you care for your well being and security I cannot emphasise how much you should AVOID LA PLAZA and encourage anybody you know not to go there. We are regular customers at La Plaza however that will be the last time myself, my family and my friends ever attend. I hope anybody reading this...
