Oscar's Restaurant, opposite Playa de Puerto Rico, offers a nice spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is clean, and the staff were friendly, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. They provide menus in multiple languages, typical for the area, and offer both a lunch menu and a regular menu, though we noticed they featured the same items without any unique options.
The drinks were decent—my mojito was enjoyable, although the sugar wasn’t fully dissolved. We both ordered the sea bass from the lunch menu. While I expected it to come out quickly, we ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes. The fish itself was well-cooked, but the accompanying salad was just roughly chopped vegetables with no seasoning, and the Canary potatoes were also unseasoned. For dessert, we shared a chocolate mousse, which was quite nice, and the barraquito was excellent.
Overall, the experience was okay, but felt a bit pricey for what we got. However, the pricing seems in line with other restaurants...
Read moreOne star for wine and a star for a good service, food was bad. We ordered tuna fillet and a swordfish fillet. Both tasted dry meaning these were cooked from frozen (and we are on the Atlantic Ocean surrounded Island..). Our starter cost nearly 15 euros and it was a disaster (small starters "Oscar's" selection included a dice of a mushroom and a slice of tinned peach...seriously?😂). Our main dish (swordfish) was drowned in a sauce, it's a bad sign when you receive your order like this- meaning food is so bad that they think they may hide it in a decent amount of sauce. Well, I guess chef or owner (the person in charge of the technological card in the kitchen and the menu needs to upgrade their skills and knowledge on how to's and current trends of serving). 99% of visitors were 50+ seniors who come for old-school stomach-stuffing-large-portions-cheap-food. Well, you have it here. Just stuffing, not enjoying. P.S. I had much better experience at their competitor's...
Read moreThe food is good, but the service does not seem professional. I ordered entrecote, but unfortunately the waiter spilled the sauce all over me and my pants. Off course things like that can happen. Unfortunately the waiters couldn't figure out how to clean it up. I har gravy on my shorts. They helped me wiping the gravy off my shorts. so I sat on a chair with gravy. gravy on my tablecloth. Gravy on the handle of my knife, the napkin smeared in gravy. all the waiters were busy. I had to exchange my chair for another one myself. Had to go up to the bar and ask for a napkin. and ask them to change our tablecloth. and frankly speaking, the staff got irritated about it. they apologized, I got my wine free of charge. but it was a sad experience that they cannot fix such an accident in a professional way. and when you point out that there is something not right, they get insulted. I won't eat...
