We came here on one of the last days of our holiday. We were recommended this restaurant from another restaurant that we had gone to that we really enjoyed. We were greeted by a lady from Manchester (really lovely and bubbly). She showed us the grill and where the food was made, which added a good level to the service. We were sat down and our drink orders were taken. We had to wait around 15/20 minutes for this, and received the wrong drink. After asking whether this was the right drink we were assured that it was, until we asked another server who said that it was indeed the wrong drink. We were given that drink on the house but declined. The fruit on the drinks itself were quite rotten which was sad, as we really enjoy eating the fruit of our cocktails. The starter we got was very nice, we ordered the baby squid! The presentation was lovely and the taste better. When the main dish came out it was very underwhelming, and it was almost sad to stare at. I would have thought more presentation would have gone into making the food look good but unfortunately not. The food was cooked well and tasted nice, but the presentation let it down. The service was a three because of the error the servers made with the drink, the amount of time taken to receive the cocktails and also because it took us a long time to pay. The atmosphere was also rated a three because the lobster tank does not look clean and the fish tank they have has dying fish within it which the server taps the glass to make the fish move (which is very counterproductive). It has the potential be a...
Read moreMe and my new bride were initially going to another nearby establishment but found their staff slightly pushy as we arrived so we continued walking past that restaurant and came across this lovely lady welcoming people to have a look at the menu, such a refreshing approach rather than pushy like where we had plans to eat. So we grabbed a cosy corner and looked over the menu and literally second's later we had complimentary potatoes and mojo sauce.
Anyways we ordered the tuna & avocado salad and bread with alioli for starters and a Johnny walker black label and a coke for the wife A very healthy measure of the black label 👍 my wife had the sirloin kebab for main and I had the sirloin steak medium well Cooked to perfection and honestly 1 of the best steaks I've had in a while so had another Johnny walker to finish it off.
We skipped dessert as we had other plans (Tipsy Bee,s) so can't comment on those but they looked delicious at the nearby table's
Service was really great up until I asked for the bill, I then used the bathroom and when I returned we were served complimentary drinks and had to ask for the bill 2 more times 😂
Not a big deal but thought I would mention it as it frustrated the misses 🤣
Final bill very reasonably priced considering 2 healthy Johnny walker measure's
Totally worth...
Read moreVery very disappointed. My parents have been visiting this restaurant for 30 plus years, myself 10 years. Been twice this week, poor both times. First visit had a T Bone, it was old and tasted bad. Second visit a few days later (giving the benefit of doubt) ordered Ribeye.... returned it after 1 mouthful. Old and bad. This used to be the best grill in the area, sadly nothing close to that now. In fairness they replaced my steak with a very nice fillet but it doesn't forgive the 2 awful steaks that were served up this week. The staff are really good, honestly they couldn't be more helpful or polite, but bad meat is bad meat. Also, the gesture of our bottle of wine being complimentary (after we complained) was hollow because when we got the bill, they actually charged for 2 glasses of house red. For me, the adjustment to the bill kind of says it all. I've spent 200E on Sunday, 186E tonight, I will never ever return to this once...
