We had a pretty awful experience at this restaurant recently. We requested a table at 7.30 and were sat beyond the restaurant, in front of the property next door’s shutters which was slightly odd as the music and lighting didn’t extend to this area.
We ordered 3x Tapas and a Burger. After waiting 45 minutes I enquired where our food was and was told as I hadn’t made a reservation, I had to wait for others who have reserved a table to order first. It seemed a strange policy when everyone’s paying the same price. I’d rather they’d just been honest about the wait time for food or just said they weee at capacity, but if you accept the customers and we’re all paying the same price, I feel they should aim to give us the same experience.
After an hour, the food arrived and the tapas was unbelievably poor. 4 thin slices of cheese with some green oil drizzled over it, plus some thin slices of chorizo - the Tapas was served on Coffee Saucers rather than plates which was a bit odd.
When my wife bit into her burger, she realised it was raw in the middle and had to take it back and ask for it to be cooked properly.
We couldn’t understand how it could have taken an hour to prepare such basic food and when challenged, the manager was evasive and kept repeating that he had to prioritise customers with reservations.
After waiting a further 10 minutes for the burger to be cooked properly, we decided against the remainder of our meal and went elsewhere where we were served our food...
Read moreThis review is based solely on service as we didn’t wait to eat here. Booked a table on Monday for 8pm on Wednesday and requested an inside table. They said they would try to accommodate this but couldn’t promise - fair enough. We turned up just before 8pm on Wed and stood in front of the man behind the counter who completely ignored us for what seemed like an age. I thought we were hidden by a Harry Potter cloak of invisibility. He then walked down to the other end of the counter where obviously the reservation book was and indicated for us to come to him. There was a table for 2 inside which we expected we were going to get but he said someone else has booked that before us on Monday and took us outside to a table in the dark next to the shutters of an adjoining shop. It was obvious that nobody wanted to sit there as it was an awful location. The man was just dismissive and it was basically take it or leave it. Good polite customer service should be a given in the hospitality industry but it was badly lacking on this occasion. It appears that walk ins get better tables than those with reservations so don’t bother reserving better still - don’t go there. Went elsewhere and had a fabulous meal with excellent service and happily handed over our hard earned money. A restaurant experience isn’t just about the food the service is just...
Read more6 of us had a meal here on 03/07/25, 2 of which were our small children (3 and 1) who had already had a meal back at our hotel. So they didn’t feel left out while the adults ate, we brought them a portion of chips (Round potatoes, visible in the corner of my photo) each. The food was delicious and I would struggle to find fault with the quality, flavours or portions; I had the baked rice with Iberian ham, Parmesan, cream and mushrooms, along with the sharing platter of Iberian meat to start that I had alongside my husband. Again, this was delicious with a fantastic, generous portion.
However, when the bill was produced, we were horrified that the bowls of chipped potatoes cost €9 EACH. These were not advertised on the menu and the cost was not brought to any of our attentions at the time of ordering which I’m quite frankly disgusted about. I feel that we were likely taken advantage of as tourists here which is a real shame as overall, we loved the food and the atmosphere.
3* based on the quality of the food but that I have given very begrudgingly. Despite how good the food was, I wouldn’t come back or recommend on the principle of the lack of transparency about paying €18 for two bowls...
