The waiter is always trying to cheat you from the moment you step in. I am Canarian and I think Mogán is just not a place to eat in general but this place was just not good, have to say the food is a 3 out of 5, which is better than anything by the beach. But my girlfriend clearly ordered (pointing to the menu) a sirloin steak. Price was 13.99 in the menu. When we got the food I was surprise that the sirloin didn't have the fatty edge (characteristics of the sirloin). She ordered medium and got it almost well done. When she described how tender it was... I was suspicious it wasn't sirloin at all. When we got the bill ... The meat she ordered was printed as 19.99 so we called the waiter on it and he told us we ordered the prime steak., which we didn't! But we just didn't argew it. We just paid and left to never come back again. My makrel was really good but too oily (so good fish to damp it on the frier😔) My Canarian potatoes... I would have rather know they microwave them ... So I could have a chance to tell them not to because when u microwave them... The skin goes rubbery! What a disaster! Shame all this people with 0 knowledge of cooking or running restaurants is ruining gran canarias name. My one question to the owners? Don't you think people eat a lot better out in their own...
Read moreWe happened to pass by this restaurant and our attention was drawn by: the fresh fish on display. the neat unpretentious table setting. the presence of local guests. We settled in and were immediately welcomed in a friendly manner. The chef came to show us a few possible choices outside the menu. We chose a combination of different fish fillets with Canarian fried potatoes, vegetables and a few sauces, followed by a dessert of home-made fig ice cream. The food arrived quickly, there was certainly enough and it was really very tasty, the fish was fresh, perhaps a bit too salty for our Belgian taste, but really delightful. The fig ice cream was new to me, I got two large scoops and it was delicious. I could have kept eating it.
The price was very OK. The food was fresh and very tasty. The portions were generous. The staff was very friendly and dressed immaculately ✨ The restaurant was very neat.
Next time I go to Puerto de Mogán I will definitely eat at this...
Read moreOur party of four enjoyed a really superb meal at the restaurante playa de Mogan.
We were among the last to be seated but were welcomed to a comfortable and warm table inside.
The service was attentive and timely even though it was quite busy.
We were encouraged to order simple fresh fish fillets by the quality fish in the display outside and we were not disappointed.
The chef showed us the huge fresh Sama (Gilthead Bream) he would prepare in the traditional oil and garlic receipt.
It was probably a the best pan fried fresh fish fillet that we had ever had. Absolute delicious. Served with simple salad and Canarian potatoes or chips, this dish was pure simplicity but heaven to eat.
The meal was topped off with an excellent bottle of white wine and some crème caramel desserts. Also very good indeed.
Even though we only stumbled on this place, we would definitely recommend it and come...
