Puerto de Mogán, affectionately known as the “Little Venice” of Gran Canaria, is a picturesque jewel that captivates the senses from the moment you arrive. Nestled at the mouth of a steep ravine on the southwest coast, this charming fishing village is built around a beautiful marina, complete with canals and Venetian-style bridges that evoke the romantic essence of the Italian city. These quaint bridges crisscross the canals, offering countless amazing photo opportunities framed by whitewashed facades draped in bougainvillea.

The harbour itself is immaculately maintained, hosting a delightful mix of traditional fishing boats and sleek yachts. Along its edge, a promenade winds past colourful buildings, bustling cafés, and alfresco dining terraces offering serene water views. Whether you’re strolling or simply people‑watching with a chilled drink, the harbour scene is soothingly beautiful and undeniably photogenic.

Dining in Puerto de Mogán is a highlight in itself. The harbour is flanked by numerous restaurants, many serving fresh seafood and Mediterranean‑Canarian fusion cuisine, all with tables overlooking the marina. Standouts include I Love Mogán, renowned for its grilled fish and chocolate dessert masterpiece ; Bolero, a colourful, family‑run spot blending local tapas like pulpo al mojo verde with festive music and sangria; Casito Mediterraneo, offering a relaxed, plant‑filled terrace and elegant Mediterranean dishes—also mindful of vegetarian and vegan diners; and La Gondola, where Italian classics like risotto and homemade tiramisu meet canalside ambiance evocative of Venice itself.

Whether savouring dinner at sunset, capturing photos from the little bridges, or enjoying the calm beauty of the marina, Puerto de Mogán effortlessly blends scenic charm with superb dining. It’s a destination where every corner feels like a postcard—and the restaurant choices make it all the...

Puerto de Mogán is one of the most picturesque spots on Gran Canaria. Often referred to as "Little Venice," it’s a charming fishing village with canals and narrow, flower-lined streets. The harbour area is perfect for a leisurely stroll, with boats gently bobbing in the water and plenty of cafes and restaurants serving fresh seafood and local dishes. The sandy beach is calm and ideal for families or those looking to relax by the sea. The water is clear, and the setting is peaceful, making it perfect for swimming or lounging. There’s also a lively market on Fridays, where you can find local crafts, fresh produce, and souvenirs. It’s a quieter alternative to other busier areas of the island, but with enough to keep you entertained. Whether you’re exploring the village, enjoying a meal by the water, or taking a boat ride, Puerto de Mogán offers a relaxing and...

Beautiful houses and hanging flowers overflowing down small streets all surrounds the harbour full of Yachts and sailing boats and still a few small fishing boats. The main beach area and small shops ahead of the town are typical tourist fair but walk past the beach and you’ll see the white washed houses with there colourful wood surrounds and hanging flowers. Easily the best part of town. We arrived close to lunch on a Friday and parking was, well full. We waited a short time and paid to park at the underground car park. Bars and restaurants around the harbour are busy as expected in peak season, food we had was very good and surprisingly well priced (large local red €4.80) There was also a large market on across the town too. All in all definitely recommended just make sure to go early for parking and walk to main part of harbour to view the...
