Restaurante La Barca Terraza is a decent dining experience, but not a standout. The restaurant's location, on the water's edge, is certainly spectacular and the outdoor seating is a nice touch. The service is friendly and attentive, but the food is just okay.
The menu seems to be too broad and generic, with a little bit of everything from garlic bread, to fish, to pizza and pasta, and even steak. The selection of dishes does not seem to fully exploit the restaurant's proximity to the water and therefore there are not enough options to enjoy fresh fish. Additionally, the food is not particularly noteworthy and does not stand out in any way, it feels like it could be found in any other place around the world.
It would be recommended that they focus on a more specialized menu, that would make the most of their location, and offer more local tastes. This could help them stand out and offer something truly unique to their customers.
Overall, while it's worth a visit for the location and the view, but the food might not be enough to make it a must-visit spot. For this to happen, they should focus on more specific dishes and make an effort to highlight the local seafood offerings. This could help set the restaurant apart and make it a destination for those looking for something...
Read moreDuring our vacation in Gran Canaria we visited this restaurant twice. Our first visit was on our wedding anniversary. Despite of al the Covid restrictions, the staff provided us a excellent and personal service. We ordered the sea food paella wich was of perfect quality. With this experience in our mind we visited La Barca for the second time. As expected te service was great! This time we ordered the mixed grilled fish. This dish was really delicious. You could definitely taste te freshness of the fish. The waiter even provided us with the information of the heritage of the fish served.
Our total experience was perfect. The staff made our vacation and our anniversary perfect. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Arguineguin. We hope to visit you one day again and we wish you all the best with these ongoing difficult times!

Read moreOn a recent Winter holiday to Gran Canaria, myself and my wife decided to stop and have a drink to watch the sunset, at La Barca, Arguineguin.
Arguineguin is a lovely coastal town in souther Gran Canaria, very much untouched by commercial tourism, and the views from the outside dining area are spectacular, especially in the afternoon/evening.
We decided to have dinner. I opted for the prawns and mushrooms to start, followed by grilled squid, which was delicious and my wife opted for the burger, which she said was lovely.
There is a great fish and seafood menu, and I would thoroughly recommend La Barca.
We will definitely return at a...
