Restaurante La Linterna is one of the many dining options located along the beachfront of Puerto de Mogán. It offers a varied menu with a good selection of both small plates and larger main dishes, catering to different appetites and preferences. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the food is well-prepared and satisfying. The service is friendly and efficient, with staff who are attentive without being intrusive. They make an effort to ensure you feel comfortable, which adds to the overall experience. It’s clear they care about providing a pleasant visit for their guests. The restaurant’s location on the beach is a definite plus, providing a relaxed atmosphere that’s ideal for a casual meal. You can enjoy the coastal breeze and the sound of the waves in a setting that feels calm and inviting. Restaurante La Linterna is a solid choice if you’re looking for a straightforward, enjoyable meal by the water.

Restaurant looks good and the staff friendly, however the food wasn't so great. Over done meat that was tough to cut and eat. The apply of sauce over the top didn't help either. Some of the family had the chips which were over cooked and hard. Service was generally slow and they even tried taking plates before one of us had finished our starters. Then just kept looking at plates when finished mains not clearing them away in a reasonable time. Ignore you when asking for the bill. Probably the worst restaurant of our week here. My recommendation is go somewhere else for your meal.

The most reasonable and delicious restaurant in Gran Canaria. I had proper King prawns with €10 euros. With only €5.9, you can get steak sandwiches with chips. What an amazing meal! Compared to mainland of Spain, I was disappointed with the food here. But I was finally satisfied with this restaurant 😋 I paid €17 in Puerto Rico - but It wasn't the proper king prawns (without shells and garlic sauce .. just Ok) highly recommended here! Some people think Mogàn is expensive-but not here! We paid €20 including drinks.

Ripping customers off! Selling T-Bone Steak as Tomahawk.

I can't recommend this place to you. Walk on, there's far better nearby. The location is great, but they do such a disservice to Puerto de Mogán.

We were a party of four adults and three children. The starters arrived - brochette and garlic bread - both apparently seasoned with air and disappointment.

For the main course, we ordered a fillet steak, two tomahawk steaks and a pork fillet for the adults. The kids ordered chicken wings, pasta and fish fingers.

As the main courses arrived, we realised we had front-row seats to a culinary circus. The fillet steak was reminiscent of a well-worn shoe, the pork fillet greasy and tasteless, doubling as a grease trap. The kids' meals looked like they'd been excavated from the depths of a budget supermarket freezer.

The quality of the steak was poor, the peppercorn sauce overpowering, and the chips were just awful. How can you get chips so wrong? It's simply ignorant to serve such rubbish. However, they went one further and served the world's worst salad. No effort whatsoever, no dressing just raw.

The real crime, however, was saved for the Tomahawk steaks. It's top drawer on the steak menu, and we had hoped for a great experience. Sadly, they tried to pass off T-bone steaks as Tomahawks. Instead of coming clean, they went all in, grabbing shovels from the kitchen and digging a big hole.

What followed was a farcical game of "Hide and Seek" with the staff, who seemed to think if they disappeared long enough, we'd forget what we ordered. They were back and forth to the kitchen, disagreeing with each other about what they'd served. At one point, they even took my phone with a picture of a Tomahawk steak to the kitchen to continue the debate. They offered to let us into the kitchen to help settle the argument. I don't know if they took the order wrong, the chef cooked the wrong steak, or they were simply caught out.

I felt for the waiter - the stress he was showing made it clear this wasn't his first rodeo arguing about what they'd put on the plate.

Eventually, they caved and agreed the steak was a T-bone. There was no admission, just shameful shrugging of shoulders. We ploughed on, as it was clear the Tomahawk wouldn't show up today.

The T-bone was awful - full of fat and gristle, tough and chewy. The sauce was overpowering, and of course, it was served with hard, bland chips and the dry salad.

They offered two Irish coffees as an apology. To be fair, these were very good, as were some of the other drinks they served. However, it was short-lived as they went for another round of incompetence.

They brought the bill and tried to charge us the same price for the T-bone as the Tomahawk. When we objected, they began insisting they were the same, then blamed the iPad for the wrong price. We asked for the menu to check the price for the T-bone - guess what? They don't have T-bone on the menu!

They stood flicking through the menu, hoping a T-bone would magically appear. They passed the baton to another waiter. We asked for the manager or owner, however, he was conveniently auditioning for the role of the world's most dedicated tourist photographer. I'm pretty sure every passing family now has enough photos to fill a small gallery.

After another disappearing act (I think they were drawing sticks), a another poor waiter made a final attempt, telling us the T-bone was on the Mexican menu. When we asked to see it, he flicked back and forth, but it had mysteriously vanished. He then claimed it was on the Spanish menu, insisting the translation of a particular steak meant it was a T-bone. He even pulled out his phone, searching for translations and images to justify himself. The final self-humiliation came when he showed a fillet with no bone.

It was painful to watch them die on this hill. In the end, we negotiated a price that felt less like highway robbery and more like a minor mugging. The Irish coffees were a bright spot - perhaps because, at that point, we needed something stronger to wash down...

Nice atmosphere and good service but the food was underwhelming and pricey. I had the garlic prawns to start which were ok. Husband had the prawn cocktail which was beautifully presented but not especially tasty (the prawns were a bit dry). We both had steak for the main course. The meat was okay but my husband's chips were not cooked properly. My 'potato gratin' tasted suspiciously like instant mashed potato that had just been piped around the plate and baked in the oven. The veg was undercooked. My mushroom sauce also tasted like it had come out of a jar or a packet rather than being freshly made. We didn't bother with desert. Highlight of the evening was my mojhito which was actually really delicious. Starters were just under 10 euros and the steaks were around 23/24 euros. We were charged a fiver for a 1.5 litre bottle of water and more than 3 euros for a glass of lemonade. Not the worst meal I have had but I...
