San Miguel Restaurant — Restaurant in Mogán

We decided to eat here as it came highly recommended by friends who had visited here previously. Suffice to say we were very disappointed, whilst the fillet steak was tender and juicy it lacked seasoning and the pepper sauce accompanying it lacked depth and tasted quite bland.

The chicken curry with rice and chips was awful, it was inedible. The chips were cold, the rice was hard and the sauce was runny. The pieces of chicken were processed and unpalatable, we complained to the waiter that it not should have been sent out and got it removed from the bill. We had insisted we would not pay for that particular meal due to how bad it was and eventually an amended bill was sent out.

This restaurant is always busy when we pass it and maybe that had an effect on the food when we visited, however due to the issues we had I don't think we'll make a return visit anytime soon. There are abundance of restaurants in Puerto Rico competing for the same customer base, so I would expect the quality of each dish to be high before it is sent out, but at this restaurant it failed to...

This is a place for mass tourism. You eat once and never come back again. Portion are maybe on the big side but quality is really too low.. Amongst other things we had:

1. a steak (entrecot novillo) cooked well done. It was so hard I had to cut it in tiny small pieces so that I could eat it (couldn't finish it).
2. biste niños - same as above - way overcooked.
3. salchicha niños: this was one the most industrial sausage I ever had..
4. pulpo a la gallega and croquetas caseras. These was quite nice actually.

Wanted to give a good review to this place because the waitress are really nice. However the quality of the food is really too poor. I think they should just stick with what they do good (see point 4) and leave the industrial food for the masses for the other places next door or...

Simply the best in Puerto Rico. Best Customer interaction all the staff are happy & cheerful & the food is superb. We first went there 10 years ago then five years ago then from 22nd Dec 2019 till 9th Jan 2020. The service has never been anything other than EXCELLENT. The food SUPERB & the atmosphere created by all of the STAFF is FANTASTIC. You have to try it you wont be disappointed. Been back again 15 Dec 2021 9th Jan 2022 nothing has changed the same old fantastic San Miguel. Back again Oct 2023 & guess what...nothing changed excellent service excellent food no hassle & the same staff as 10 years ago. That tells you something about the clearly Excellent management.
