I'm not sure if you need to know about this place. It's so popular and hidden that people wait in line 5-10 min. or more to be seated, but once you have it... dishes and drinks come to your table amazingly fast. The restaurant has tables in an alley across the block. It also has two dining rooms. You have to look for it to find it. It's not on sight. At first, the menu looks like many other restaurants in the area. So, why is it so popular? The menu is hard to distinguish from the other restaurants. Calamari are calamari, fish is fish, peppers are peppers, gambas a la pili-pili look the same also. It's in the flavor, the oil that's used and the products are fresh. It's also the atmosphere. Five servers taking orders and giving them to the kitchen orally at a speed that makes you wonder who is cooking - I saw only two cooks taking orders and at the same time cooking 😱. Not written!!! The tables in the alley next to the kitchen are the best. Es como una obra de teatro. The servers's sense of humor and interaction with the customers complement your meal. When you look at what I spend, keep in mind that I almost eat like for two people. I had a big beer, a glass of wine, two main dishes, and a side dish. There is one wrinkle in my experience. When I see people waiting, it makes me feel rushed. I'm a slow eater. I like to taste and enjoy my food and drinks. It's not their fault. Popularity has its price. Nevertheless, I'll go...
Read moreThe staff were friendly and warm but we cannot recommend the food.
We ordered fried padron, clams and pink shrimps. Pink shrimps were not the freshest but not terrible for the price. As a clam lover, I have to say that I was disappointed. They are the smallest I have ever seen being put on a plate. Unlike the sweetness you'd usually expect from clams it tasted nothing but the butter and oil it was bathing in and a hint of bitterness from overuse of garlic I guess. The peppers were over fried. And because the oil was not properly drained, it was so oily that we couldn't finish the plate.
I regret not listening to the negative reviews and went there anyway. If you are looking for a relatively cheap bite (we paid less than 30€ for two people) and don't really care about the quality of the food, the place might be for you. But it definitely did not deliver the tasty no-frills one would expect from a...
Read moreAs an Asian tourist, before the Asian Ignorance happened to me, this restaurant should be my highest rated restaurant in Malaga, but UNFORTUNATELY the second time I came here I had an UNFAIR treatment. I followed the queue but they served the people after me, without any explanation and I had to wait again. Then after 5 mins I had to ask them for the reason, they told me it was because I’m alone. To be honestly, I could understand that if they explained it to me before they served ppl after me first. But now I can’t. It’s too late, they ignored me until I asked. it’s ASIAN IGNORANCE. and I won’t recommend any colored ppl come here, you probably gonna have a same experience like...
