I've been visiting Nerja since I was a child and I can confidently say that Deewan E Khaas Indian Restaurant is the best authentic Indian restaurant I've come across in Nerja. Not only is it reasonably priced, but the food is an absolute delight, and I can't stop raving about the Korma and Chicken Tikka!

What sets Deewan E Khaas apart is its commitment to delivering an authentic Indian dining experience. The food was so outstanding that my family and I couldn't resist returning not once, but twice in a single week! Aside from the incredible food, what truly made our experience memorable was the exceptional service. The waiters were not only attentive but also incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The head chef himself took the time to come chat with us. He inquired about our meal, shared the story behind the restaurant, and told us about its recent opening, which added a personal touch to our dining experience. The food and service here is amazing. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean. The staff are friendly (and speak English). The presentation of the location is perfect.

Now to the important part, the food.

Wow! I've never eaten such a wonderful meal. You can also watch the chef, who is lovely by the way, prepare those finishing touches with the spices. And what spices, the delicate balance of sweet, hot, cool, tender... Seriously, I'm not a foodie and I never leave reviews but this place? This was somewhere I shall be returning to again and again. It's great for vegetarians as well. Also, after a lovely chat with the chef, I discovered my Biryani had the flavour of rose water from Persia (Iran) to give it that special something, and it was special. I loved the romance of that.

If you want a romantic meal, or something for the family and friends, then I cannot recommend this place highly...

We found this place while walking by during the day. We booked for that night after reading the great reviews. When we arrived the waiter was very attentive and said the mixed grill would take 25 minutes and he would try and get our order in before the table of 8 who also just ordered. He brought us our beer and didn’t come to the table until an hour and 10 minutes later after I went up and complained. Our meal was served 10 minutes later ! We have eaten Indian food all over the World and this was the worst ! The mixed grill was over coated in a tomato sauce (waiter stated ketchup ?) which made everything taste the same and was very bitter. The curry sauce was very watery and my wife’s meal was very hot (spicy) when she asked for medium. We couldn’t eat the food and complained but only got an apology for the wait and the full bill (€58)! Sorry no second...
