Restaurante Japonés - TORO SUSHI OVIEDO — Restaurant in Oviedo

I tried to go to this place on Sunday but they were closed. Because of the attentive reception I tried again this afternoon. I may be biased as on Saturday I went to Umami and yesterday I made my own miso soup. I should explain that my mother was Malaysian I six years ago I traveled through this wonderful region, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam but unfortunately not as far as Japan. The food was good and the waiters attentive but for some reason I didn't get the dishes I wanted but was directed a general menu rather than the Al la carte. The former didn't have the few dishes that I wanted and I was overwhelmed by dishes that I didn't want. Overall the food was good but it would have been better to have the small dishes that I wanted than to be overwhelmed by dishes I did not. I didn't feel any excuse for this as there were plenty of staff in proportion to customers. Surely a good idea to give customers what they want not what the restaurant wants. When I explained to the waitress that yesterday I had made my own miso soup instead of being interested she looked at me is distress. Come on you can do better. I hope that they take advice of my positive critisim as Gascona and Oviedo need more interesting food options for the...

Fuimos tres personas a cenar un jueves, reservamos previamente por teléfono (dado que en google maps ponía que estaría cerrado por las noches, y no es así).

Es tipo buffet, del que te traen la comida a la mesa, no te tienes que andar levantándote tu a por ella, puedes pedir las veces que quieras la cantidad que quieras. Hay que tener en cuenta que si sobra comida que has pedido tendrá una penalización de unos 3€ por persona, evidentemente se hace de manera disuasoria para que no se tire comida y que la gente se piense bien hasta donde pueden comer y no pedir por pedir, veo acertada la medida. El tipo de comida es asiática, hay gyozas, baos, sushi y derivados....

En relación calidad/precio lo veo muy acertado, las gyozas no son las mejores que he comido pero están acertadas, los buñuelos de pulpo tienen un sabor riquísimo desde luego fue lo que más me gusto de todo lo que pedí esa noche. Yo sólo como sushi tempurizado y de los tres tipos que pedí me gustaron todos, especialmente el de pato. El bao de langostino tenía una salsa que estaba rica también. No pedimos postres, aunque si quieres vienen incluidos con el precio del menú del buffet. En comparación para que hacerse una idea, la calidad es tipo al restaurante Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar, aun que a mi en calidad y sabores me ha gustado más este que el Sibuya, además de que si es un día que andas justo de euros, en este sabes en que franja te vas a mover comas lo que comas, en el otro dependerá de los platos que pidas.

El capacidad del local es amplia, es muy grande para los estándares de la zona. El trato de los camareros y el personal en general, amable y cortes, nada negativo que añadir.

Los precios del menú buffet rondan, dependiendo de si es para comer o cenar (supongo también si es festivos o vísperas), para el primero 15€ creo, y para el segundo 20€, aprox. Nosotros por comensal pagamos unos 25€ (no llegó), solo...

It is just ok.. I love Japanese food, especially sushi, but unfortunately the sushi here isn't that great and they sweeten almost everything to an absurd amount. Specifically, the rice has way too much sugar and it is very dry. This will ruin your sushi. Additionally, some of the other items like the salads also have way too much sugar. Almost everything on the menu was sweet, when Japanese food is typically savory.

However, they have a great selection of various Japanese dishes and I did enjoy a few things. I also liked the atmosphere and the easy ordering system. I might try it...
