I don’t know why the reviews for this bar are so terrible and at best mediocre!!!! I’ve been eating at Bar Cifre for over 30 years and never had a bad experience! And we ate there last night and had the most succulent roast lamb, fresh Jake, pork cheeks and freshly made tortilla de patatas with salad. For starters we all shared fresh tongue, fresh fried whitebait and mushrooms. This bar is run by two sisters and they do an excellent job. Four people dined sumptuously, with dessert and drinks and paid only €90! The food is all homemade - definitely not out of a can- very typical Mallorquian. It’s superb! I’ve paid a lot more for food in fancy touristy restaurants that are not a scratch on Bar Cifre. There’s air conditioning and simplicity and authenticity abound. One day we went there for bocadillos para llevar( take away sandwiches) to take to the beach and they were crammed full of locally made cheese and jam on Serrano, with a large handful of Mallorquian olives thrown in! In summary, Bar Cifre is a jewel. Away from the maddening crowd and a shear must if you want to experience traditional Mallorquian cuisine. It’s a local bar and locals are never deluded. You may need a translator to understand what’s on offer, but it’s so worth a visit. In fact, I can guarantee that if you go once, you’ll go again! The kitchen opens at 7:45pm and children are welcome and yes, there’s an excellent children’s menu!! Thank you! But I just had to write my own review after reading some of...
