We recently went to Mallorca (Early Aug 2020) and experienced Port de Pollença. We were a family of five adults who ate the majority of our meals in the area. After a couple of days, we decided to move away from the port view and try the Restaurante Bar Coral. The location is barely off the port's view, so a nice walk to the site is very lovely. Due to Covid-19, they had us sitting outside and provided all the safety measures needed.
First, the staff was the best we had during our trip. They were very welcoming and accommodating to any request. Second, the food was terrific! We had tried many restaurants that had a view of the port. We knew it was the view we purchased and not the quality of food. At Restaruante Bar Coral, the food and service were terrific, so we went back two days later. The restaurant once again delivered a fantastic meal for all five of us.
A day later, we had gone to another restaurant with a view of the port and failed to even get a descent meal. All five of our party was displeased with everything except the view. So, for our last day, we decided to get one last fantastic meal. We went back to the Restaurante Bar Coral on our way out of the port for the evening to make a reservation. Of course, they welcomed a reservation for 1200 the next day due to our flight at 1600.
Third and final meal, and it was just as amazing!!!! While sitting there, we noticed that they did not even open until 1230, they took us anyways without even suggesting any other time. The same three staff members each meal, and they all provided a warm and welcoming service even when the wrong dish came out. Even with the mistake, they brought out paella until the dish was ready. It was one of the best experiences in a long time.
We all had a variety of Cod, squid, grilled chicken (plain/with pepper sauce), Aioli and olives as a starter, Tombet, and sardines (which they deboned on request). Finally, the prices were outstanding for the area, we averaged around 100 euros per meal of 5 inlcuding a...
Read moreIt is such a shame I have to leave this terrible review because of one person. So I went there for a coffe as I work in the area. There was an ashtray on the table but I still asked to the waitress if I could smoke and she said yes. I sat far from other people in the corner nearest to the road. All was well. As it got busier I asked the waitress if she needed my table I was happy to give it up as I understand the business. She said “don’t worry I’ll let you know if we need it” all very friendly interactions so far. Until out of the blue this guy comes up to me very abruptly and said I can’t smoke there and he had to take my table. Super rude and unprofessional. I said of course he can take the table but I tried to explain the ashtray is from the restaurant and it was on the table. Additionally I did ask prior and it was ok. He couldn’t care less what I was saying and carried on being super rude and arrogant while other clients are looking at me in shock. Even they may have not understood as we were speaking Spanish they could see by his body language and tone it was not friendly at all. Absolutely disgusted with this treatment so humiliating. Well I work for an international company - our clients come from north Europe. We advise them of things to do, where to go to eat etc. I certainly will NOT be recommending this place. I am afraid they would experience a service such as this. Don’t be so complacent with locals we do bring business to the area directly...
Read moreAfter coming to Pollença for many, many years we have never eaten at Coral until last night. After extensive googling from my wife on trip adviser and google reviews this came up as a contender for dinner.
Without going on a huge rant, someone’s else’s review summarised it perfectly - the food is ‘flat’. I had the sole and it was clearly pre cooked just sat in oil, we ordered food and 1 min later it was brought out which should have been the first red flag. I’ve never had Sole as tasteless as last night - it was crunchy (felt almost deep fried!?) the chips were soggy and oily - my wife had the beef casserole which said it came with vegetables (we counted a whole 3 slices of carrot) but she also said it was pretty tasteless which was strange. My mother-in-law asked for a glass with ice for her wine 3 times and each time the waitress said ‘of course’ then proceeded to not come back. The service was pretty terrible
We’ve eaten at a lot of places over the years , La ROC over the road had been our regular and we often see how packed Coral is over the road , I honestly don’t know why. If you want a tasty meal please...
