Idilico Beach House — Restaurant in Pollença

I’m sorry to have to write this review as we have previously visited this restaurant and had an enjoyable evening, however tonight my opinion has changed.

I made a reservation for a table of 4 well in advance for an 8pm sitting in the lounge area not on the beach. We arrived in plenty of time 10minutes before we were due only to see our table being given to a family who were waiting just as we arrived. The lounge area was now full with no table for us. The beach area was also full. We were greeted by the male host who could give no reason why they gave our table away.. on looking at the reservations diary we were the only reservation in the lounge but there was no table. A female host then came and spoke to the male in Spanish clearly about our situation and the she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off without saying anything to us.

What made this matter worse was they didn’t seem to care from that moment on. They carried on serving and taking orders from diners and left us waiting around with no explanation. After about 10 minutes a table became free on the beach area but no urgency was given to clear the table and offer us a seat there.. my wife and children were now very disappointed and didn’t want to wait so without being offered anything else we decided to find another restaurant which can be difficult if you haven’t booked.

We have been to other restaurants who obviously respect the reservations and will not give tables away and people have to wait.. I cannot say the same for Idilico Beach House.. even if you turn up way before your dining time the table may be gone as they have no respect for their customers and are happy to ruin a families night by chasing any money that they can get. We were treated terribly as the customer..left standing with no explanation or apology.. I see other reviews talking of the rude lady member of staff.. well we definitely met her...

This is hands down our favourite restaurant in Mallorca. We celebrated our engagement with my new fiancée there and we frequently visited it during our time there. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was honestly spectacular. We made new friends with our excellent waiters: Mohammed and Jose which were some of the nicest people I have ever met and really made us feel at home. The views and the atmosphere were unmatched and the paella is to die for. If you go there make sure to try the octopus and the sea bass and don’t hesitate to say hi to Mohammed and Jose from Bulgaria!

The service from the young man was just lovely, however when 5 people tell the manager that the wine isn’t very nice you assume that they would say that’s okay and bring another bottle! But no! Shame on you for not just saying the customer is always right. We left the table and paid the bill, leaving 5 glasses of wine undrunk because it wasn’t nice , yet you argued with us about it! We shall never recommend you or visit you ever again. Such a shame as your young member of staff was welcoming and lovely and you just weren’t!
