Black Sea Restaurant & Burguers Gourmet — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

Well it was definitely worth the wait 👍 after reading the reviews whilst waiting for the end of October and the start of our annual 2 weeks holiday we finally got to try the Black Sea Restaurant. We arrived without a reservation on a Monday evening , Tordor was having the evening off and had left his lovely wife in charge . On arrival although quite busy we where greeted and offered a table of our choice , having been given a menu and a explanation of the specials of the day we decided on The fillet Steak for her indoors and I Opted for the Salmon from the specials board. wow wow wow 😋😋 The wife’s Steak came complete with salad and the BEST chips she had had in a long time not the run of the mill half cooked french fries these where proper home made chips and her steak was cooked to a perfect medium as requested, I was not disappointed with my choice of the salmon it was just as described by our waiter and again cooked to perfection with a fantastic cream sauce great roasted veg on the side too . We had desert too The Pear Cheese cake and apple cake that where served with Ice cream and refreshing fruit syrup again all home made and really tasty. We could not decide if we could add it to our must visit list so we ate at the Black Sea 2 more times just to make sure 👍😂 it’s on the list for sure and we definitely recommend you visit and try the great service and food on...

UPDATE: Whilst in conversation over email to the restaurant they informed us that one of their staff members has a stomach bug and has also been sick. Which would explain why my partner was very ill and then a day later I also was throwing up with extreme aching and chills. So it was either the stomach bug was passed onto us or the food was the cause. Either way was not a nice way to spend the majority of our holiday :( ———————————— Such a shame, the food tasted amazing and the service was great. Lovely staff and meals. I got the Musaka which was lovely and my fiancé got the Black sea burger and canarian potato’s which tasted great. Unfortunately he got food poisoning of some sort after eating the burger. He started off with a weird stomach and by the time we’d gotten back and gone to sleep he was awake again, very ill, throwing up and stomach pain from what only could have been the burger, which was pink in the middle (how they cook them and recommend) Such a shame, will not be visiting again due to the food poisoning which is sad as it tasted and looked great :( Still appreciate the staff which were very accommodating and provided a complementary shot of ron miel at the end...

Well I have to say sorry to those who had a great meal here but I went last night and had the worst meal ever in puerto. I ordered a burger ( United States ), and after a 45 min wait ( and the restaurant was not busy ), I recieved a burger undercooked after asking for Bien Etcho, and although I was told the burgers were home made, biting Into the burger I got a mouthful of plastic. The starter of Mixed Bulgarian Tapas was tasteless, and when I complained to the waiter about the burger, he took the dish back into the kitchen, later coming out with an apology but no sign of the chef. They deducted the the cost of the burger from the menu, but nothing else which I was appalled about as most restaurants would have apologised and not charged for the meal. My partner by the way had the Fish of the Day, Dorada and has spent the morning in the loo. We may just have been miss fortunate but living here in Puerto, we will certainly not be back.
