Staff are very friendly and efficient but pizzas are very disappointing. They looked nice as per my photos but they tasted incredibly bland … the tomato base is lacking correct seasoning and and has no depth of tomato flavour, cheese is also bland. My vegetables on my vegetarian pizza were very lightly cooked which would have been fine for me (as I hate oily vegetables) if the rest of the pizza had flavour but it made the vegetables seem raw and lacking in flavour as well. My husband had a pepperoni pizza and also thought his pizza was very bland and lacking in flavour. The dough was ok (but not the best), thickness of dough and length of cooking was fine. We sat outside and this seating area is pleasant and relaxed, but they need to improve on the cooking in the kitchen.

Lovely atmosphere and a corner of Santa Cruz that is cobbled, side streets of eateries with painted fresco and walls, a few hidden gems. We were served by an older lady who was friendly, fun and welcoming. Italian music and vibe. The wait staff are jokey too and helpful and friendly and efficient. Service isn't quick but good when the food is ordered. The "secret recipe vegetarian balls" starter is delicious. All the pasta we had was lovely (2 prawn papardelle, 1 spaghetti di mare, 1 lasagna, but the veggie risotto a little salty) The meal worked out at €20 p/h for 5 people with carafe wine, 2 soft drinks and sparkling water: 2 starters to share and 5 mains and 1 dessert to share. 100% recommend

Ristorante Mamna Rosa is an absolute diamond of a restaurant. Located at a crossroads of alleys in Puerto de la Cruz, the building is apparently the first built in the town. Service is fantastic, without being pushy. The food is beautiful, very well cooked and seasoned. We had the antipasto to start, the salmon and the steak with Gorgonzola for mains and a cannolo alongside coffee to finish. Three glasses of wine and two bottles of San Pellegrino - the bill came in at 88 euro. What fantastic value. A busker playing laid back tunes on a guitar just added to the ambience. You must visit if you are in the area. Thank you to all the staff and the chef at Ristorante Mamma Rosa.

We decided to give this place ago after reading the good reviews. We called in advance to reserve a table and enquire about the vegetarian options. We ended up ordering the vegetarian meatballs as our starter and the tri pasti (vegetarian style) as our main to share between two people.

The starter came out somewhat promptly and it was tasty, so we thought we were off to a good start, but we then had to wait around 40 minutes for our main dish to come out and when it finally did, we were left underwhelmed.

The tri pasti consisted of 3 different types of pasta which were each prepared differently. We were served a penne style pasta with pesto, fettuccine with mushrooms and tomatoes, and spaghetti with black olives and some other ingredients.

We found it all to be tasteless apart from the pesto style pasta, but this one was slightly undercooked (not al-dente). None of the pastas had a proper sauce so they all tasted very bland. It was also expensive for what it was, around 21 euros for a small plate of pasta to share between two people.

After leaving the restaurant we both felt unwell so I'm not sure if we ended up with a bout of...

Went here on a Saturday night. Been to two restaurants close by and both were excellent so had high hopes. Unfortunately the service was dead slow, 35 min from taking order to cold starters being delivered. Cpuple next to us who orderex at same time had eaten hot mains befoure purs arrived.

I had anti pasto and it was ok a lot of cheese, no vinegar or oil on it. Basic but ok. Partner had buischeeta and it was bland lacking garlic.

Mains arrived without taking away starter dishes. My main was lasanga and I ate about a 1/5th. It was lots of pasta, very little sauce, quite dry, lacking cheese or a real sauce. Her risotto was ok. The waiter did apologise for it being slow but other tables were served quicker.

To make it worse their card machine didn't work (only place in 2week holiday this happened) so 10 min walk to cash machine required. Got limoncello shots as an apology but overall a disappointing experience. Just lacked any authenticity for the food and service was not great.

I normally don't leave negative reviews which i think reflects the level of this experience. Maybe it was a bad night service wise but that doesn't cover...

We happened upon this lovely restaurant whilst exploring the area and wanting a quick snack in the remaining afternoon sunshine. We were absolutely blown away by the delicious food and the warmth and friendliness of the staff and owners. My aunt makes a killer Parmigiana, and when I saw it was on the menu I had to try it. It was simply wonderful! So incredibly delicious. I savoured every mouthful! I asked about the recipe because (don't tell my aunt) it was even better than hers. I went to compliment the chef and the owner, and they were so charmed that they gave me an extra portion to take home to our hotel! How very lovely and kind of them. We flagged down other passing tourists looking for somewhere to eat and recommended the restaurant to them and they were equally thrilled with the food. The restaurant inside is decorated so beautifully, and outside too. It's immaculately clean and the tables so nicely set. The prices are excellent and the food delicious. My partner loved his dish too. Eating there was the top culinary experience of our holiday. We...
