I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was inviting, with a bustling yet not too loud ambiance that added to the overall enjoyment.
What truly set this establishment apart was the small but varied menu that offered a delightful array of flavours. Each dish was carefully crafted, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The limited selection ensured a focus on quality rather than quantity, and every bite was a testament to the attention to detail in the kitchen.
A unique and memorable aspect of the evening was the periodic singing of typical Tenerife songs by the owners. This added a local touch and created a warm, authentic vibe that elevated the dining experience. It felt like a genuine connection to Tenerife's culture, making the restaurant a true treasure in comparison to more standard eateries in the area.
Overall, I highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone seeking not only delicious food but also a touch of local charm and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a standout choice in Puerto de la Cruz that goes beyond the ordinary...
Read moreWe’ve eaten at Julián’s twice during our five days on the island… we love it so much, we’ve booked to come here for our last night too.
Julián and his team are a joy. When we arrived the first time, we had no reservation, but he went out of his way to ensure there would be a table for us in 30 minutes.
The ambience is great - a mix of local families and tourists, young and old, all made to feel welcome. You can hear yourself speak but still feel the buzz of a busy place.
The food is great! Authentic Canarian dishes, some with a twist. The lamb fillet (solomillo de Cordero) is a dream & are the huevos al estampido are not to be missed. For those with a sweet tooth, the Polvito Canario is just magical.
It’s intimate, the staff are fun, friendly and helpful… and talented - as the evening got quieter, Julián took out his guitar and treated us to some Spanish music.
All in all, just a great place to...
Read moreThis is a very low profile place, with a lot of atmosphere. Dining here really has been a welcome addition to our vacation, even though communicating had its difficulties. Our meal was very good, to say the least, from the curious "snack", consisting of a lovely bread and some cheese with seeds and honey, onwards to a very tasty salad, containing, amongst other things, mackerel and avocado, finally to a very tender, very delicious main-course of lamb and sweet potato. All this accompanied by, probably, the best red wine I've had in my short life. And the joy was complete as the quaint staff perfomed a song for the meal. Muy bien!
We can only recommend this place, as even the prices were by no means drastic. The coffee isn't...
