So, so dissapointing. The food was actually inedible!!!

We entered the restaurant and waited a long time whilst the waiters talked and ignored us. My partner is Italian ( I'm english) and he spoke to the waiter in broken Spanish/ English. The waiter refused to understand us despite us using body language to ask for a table for 2. The man gave us Spanish menus despite English menus being available. We couldn't understand anything and had to ask for help when an English speaking waiter gave us menus.

We ordered a lot of food, the starters were average at best. We couldn't eat the mains - we have had Mexican food all over the world including Mexico and this food was absolutely terrible. To top this, the service was really poor, nobody came to check we were enjoying the food but the waiting staff seemed to be going to tables of Spanish people and were laughing and chatting with them. That would be fine if it wasn't in the centre of a tourist area. Our waiter also could not stop touching his nose which was unnerving.

When the bill came they presented us with a card machine straight away with no time to look at it. My partner started to pay then on the off chance noticed 4 chocolate deserts on the bill. We challenged this which caused a bit of commotion at the bar. They returned with our actual bill that was over €30 cheaper!!!! With very little apology- I'm so glad my partner saw the mistake!!!!

We left hungry and dissapointed!!! Don't waste your money...

If you’re in Tenerife and craving authentic Mexican flavors with a vibrant twist, Chingón is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, the lively atmosphere, colorful decor, and warm hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.

The food? Simply phenomenal. Every dish bursts with bold, authentic flavors that transport you straight to Mexico. The tacos are next-level, the guacamole is fresh and zesty, and the salsas pack the perfect punch. You can tell that every ingredient is thoughtfully sourced and prepared with passion.

But what truly elevates Chingón to the next level is the bar—and the mastermind behind it. The bartender here is nothing short of a cocktail genius, crafting the BEST cocktails I’ve ever had. Whether it’s a classic margarita with the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty, or one of their unique signature creations, every drink is a masterpiece. The flavors are bold, refreshing, and perfectly complement the food.

The combination of mouthwatering dishes, incredible cocktails, and a vibrant, welcoming vibe makes Chingón stand out as the best Mexican spot on the island. If you’re in Tenerife, do yourself a favor—grab a table, order a round of cocktails, and get ready for a truly chingón experience. You’ll...

We went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening with high expectations from the pictures and countless positive reviews. Sadly we were utterly disappointed. At first we were approached by an older lady on the street who wanted to lure us into the restaurant, not knowing she’s the owner of Chingón so we ignored her. She was really annoyed with us afterwards but finally showed us to our table. The menu looked promising, I ordered the chicken flautas and my fiancée tacos but when the food arrived, the portion sizes were extremely small, especially considering the price. The flavor was mediocre at best, the chicken did not taste fresh and we were a bit scared of getting food poisoning because some other recent reviews talked about such experiences. I ordered the lemon cake as a desert, expecting a LEMON CAKE like the name said. It was just cream with lemon flavor, a carlota de limón. When I asked the owner about it, she didn’t even know that it was on the menu. After she then asked a waitress there about the lemon cake, she explained to me that „it’s a cake from Mexico, it’s different there“. A carlota de limón is not a cake, please specify your dishes as what they are. I had to ask if we can pay twice before someone came after 15 minutes. I won’t eat...

A bit of a mixed review here.. The location is nice as is the restaurant and the staff! No Corona which is odd for a Mexican restaurant. Upon ordering I was told that I had ordered to much food for one person so I asked if the starter (chicken wings) would be large enough to share between two, I was told no. When the wings came out there were loads but unfortunately neither of us rated them very highly, the sauce was very overpowering and sickly, we did finish as were both really hungry but it was mid at best. Less can sometimes be more! We both ordered the same main, Chicken Tacos, for us they were even worse, the chicken within was really very dry and the whole dish just was the complete opposite of the starter in that it lacked flavour. (And was actually way less filling than the starter). Unless I was super fixed on getting a Mexican while in Tenerife I would pass in the future.

Terrible experience overall. The food was far from authentic and more like a watered down version of Mexican cuisine meant for kids. The waitress couldn’t recommend anything, food or drinks and seemed completely uninterested. I ordered the tacos and a mezcal cocktail. While the cocktail was decent, the food was absolute garbage. Before anyone says I don’t know Mexican food, I spent a month traveling all over Mexico last year. My girlfriend also ordered a couple of dishes, and they were equally awful. I absolutely hate wasting money on bad food, and this experience left me feeling ripped off and annoyed. Would not recommend.
