So, so dissapointing. The food was actually inedible!!!
We entered the restaurant and waited a long time whilst the waiters talked and ignored us. My partner is Italian ( I'm english) and he spoke to the waiter in broken Spanish/ English. The waiter refused to understand us despite us using body language to ask for a table for 2. The man gave us Spanish menus despite English menus being available. We couldn't understand anything and had to ask for help when an English speaking waiter gave us menus.
We ordered a lot of food, the starters were average at best. We couldn't eat the mains - we have had Mexican food all over the world including Mexico and this food was absolutely terrible. To top this, the service was really poor, nobody came to check we were enjoying the food but the waiting staff seemed to be going to tables of Spanish people and were laughing and chatting with them. That would be fine if it wasn't in the centre of a tourist area. Our waiter also could not stop touching his nose which was unnerving.
When the bill came they presented us with a card machine straight away with no time to look at it. My partner started to pay then on the off chance noticed 4 chocolate deserts on the bill. We challenged this which caused a bit of commotion at the bar. They returned with our actual bill that was over €30 cheaper!!!! With very little apology- I'm so glad my partner saw the mistake!!!!
We left hungry and dissapointed!!! Don't waste your money...

Read moreWe went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening with high expectations from the pictures and countless positive reviews. Sadly we were utterly disappointed. At first we were approached by an older lady on the street who wanted to lure us into the restaurant, not knowing she’s the owner of Chingón so we ignored her. She was really annoyed with us afterwards but finally showed us to our table. The menu looked promising, I ordered the chicken flautas and my fiancée tacos but when the food arrived, the portion sizes were extremely small, especially considering the price. The flavor was mediocre at best, the chicken did not taste fresh and we were a bit scared of getting food poisoning because some other recent reviews talked about such experiences. I ordered the lemon cake as a desert, expecting a LEMON CAKE like the name said. It was just cream with lemon flavor, a carlota de limón. When I asked the owner about it, she didn’t even know that it was on the menu. After she then asked a waitress there about the lemon cake, she explained to me that „it’s a cake from Mexico, it’s different there“. A carlota de limón is not a cake, please specify your dishes as what they are. I had to ask if we can pay twice before someone came after 15 minutes. I won’t eat...
