Dined here with my wife last night after easily booking a table via WhatsApp. Met on arrival by the very pleasant owner, who'd already prepared a table for us and asked if it was suitable. All very professional and relaxed. He patiently explained the offering of Thali, (lots of small Indian dishes, served on a large tray), and the bbq meats on offer. Being meat lovers, we opted to share the tandoori flavoured ribs main, as a starter, the owner explaining they no longer do the Vindaloo version. Being spice lovers too, we were not disappointed with the gentle heat on each bite. They were deliciously juicy and we can highly recommend them. Main course my wife had a very sizeable lamb shank sat on a flavoursome, lightly spiced sauce. Obviously slow cooked as it was tender and fell off the bone. Full of flavour and very juicy. Her only regret is she couldn't finish it. For my main, I opted for the 350g entrecot steak. I asked the owner if I could have a tandoori rub on the steak prior to cooking. My request was obliged without problem and the steak was served to my liking with a beautiful background spice building as I ate it. The steak was served sliced and very tender. I love steak and I love Indian food, so this was a combination made in heaven! Some lovely side sauces were served with the food for dipping including a chilli sauce and chimichurri. The humble chip must also get a mention here. Home cut, crispy and the best we've had dining out in a while. Wine is served in half litre carafes. We had one white and one red, with both very nice and suited to our palate. All this for 75euro. A fantastic experience and great value for money. The area around the restaurant has lots of other eateries, so there was a great buzz sitting outside. Must also mention our other waiter from Bari, (Italy), who went about things in a quietly efficient manner. We will be returning very soon to give the lamb chops a go or I might just stick with the delicious steak. Decisions, decisions. Try it, you won't be...
Read moreWe stumbled across this wonderful new restaurant by chance and after two visits we are absolutely delighted! The dishes were all very good and even with something simple like the vegetable platter as a side dish, you could tell that someone who really knows what they're doing is cooking here. It not only tastes good but, it is a real experience. The host puts a lot of passion and experience into the great dishes. Even though I have often eaten vegetarian Indian food, I encountered new dishes here. I can particularly recommend the thali menu. It's a wonderful four-course menu. The curries were European spicy, so maybe no the best choice for those who don't like spicy food at all, but harmless for those who like a bit of spiciness. The location is very cosy and the service very friendly and funny.
I don't want to exaggerate. But really, the only catch is that the bar for Indian restaurants has now reached a different...
