For the sake of your taste buds, please don't go here. This was the worst breakfast I had in a long time.
The coffee was very sour. I couldn't drink it. The bread was dry. I didn't know it's possible to make an avocado sandwich this bad.
The service was extremely slow and didn't care at all. I only got my dish when the others already finished theirs. No apologies.
Update to answer the response from the owner The review is not meant to hurt you. It's meant to warn other customers because we were seriously disappointed. In my opinion you should rather try to improve instead of trying to discredit my review.
The coffee was terrible. If your beans are high quality, maybe something was done wrong while preparing it. It was so sour we initially thought the oat milk had spoilt. We also told our waitress, but she was not interested at all and just brought us another coffee with regular milk, which was also terrible. We took a sip and left it.
It was the 'El Sebas' sandwich. We chose the poached egg, which was also overcooked by the way.
I always understand if a place is busy and staff takes a long time. But the waitresses were very slow, forgetting to check on other guests when they were already in the back of your garden. If you can't serve dishes at the same time, the least you could do is apologize for it. Like I said, I had to watch my friends finish their meals, before I got mine, so they had to wait for me to finish it.
My review is true and I'm a real customer, not a false identity like you claim. I've been actively reviewing for years, as you can check on my profile. This is a poor reaction to a negative review, but I have to say I'm...
Read moreShocked there are not more negative reviews. The one star is for the garden. We have been here on two occasions. One year apart. I recalled as it was happening again why it didn’t stand out the first time.
The lady who is by the main counter is quite abrupt and rude. We stood around and when it seemed like we had to seat ourselves we made to sit, only to be rudely shouted at to wait for a table. (No signs to say wait, no hello welcome I’ll be there now etc)
She looked completely upset we were even there to ask for a table TO EAT. Not one smile.
The older staff woman tending to tables is the same. (The younger staff are quite nice, but unfortunately we were not mostly served by them)
We were rushed around, not welcomed, even loudly told “I’ll come now!” (Despite not talking to her or even asking… very confusing) when being seated and had to wait at least 12 minutes before our drinks ordered were taken.
The dish we had was extremely below average - boring, small, Luke warm, unfinished and over priced.
Overall we left with a feeling of being totally unwelcome and as if we were a bother. On both occasions. We have gone to amazing restaurants in Europe and shocked at the level of audacity a tourist town cafe has to treat customers like this.
And saying that we are expats who live in Germany! That says a lot about the level of service here.
In my opinion, plenty places want your money and are happy to treat you well. Save yourself and your...
Read moreA very mixed experience. While the space was beautiful and my fiancée’s coffee was fine, I encountered completely absurd behavior from the staff. I ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk, a drink I have almost every day at various places, even in different countries. After taking a sip and realizing it was undrinkable, my fiancée tried it as well and agreed something was off. We decided to speak to our waitress. I explained that the matcha didn’t taste right and asked if it could be exchanged. She was happy to do so, took the matcha away, and brought me a chai latte instead.
After finishing our drinks (which were nice), we went to pay, only to notice that both the matcha and chai latte were on the bill. We informed the staff that we had returned the matcha. The staff member looked at us with an arrogant attitude and said, “That’s your problem—you didn’t like it,” and, “You could have drunk it,” even though they had taken it away. She also pulled a bag of matcha out of a cupboard and said, “This is a good quality product, look.” Well, showing me a bag of matcha doesn’t magically make my matcha latte better.
The whole experience was terrible, as she kept arguing with us for five minutes, acting like they had never made a mistake and that us not liking the matcha was our problem. I highly recommend changing your attitude and listening to customers’...
