The restaurant lures you in with a beautiful interior design, nicely designed outside area complemented by an interesting Italian culinary offering. That's where the superlatives end! Our experience on the evening of 22nd April did not start well with a very dismissive maitre 'd not accepting our booking even though my wife showed not only the online confirmation but 2 reminders for our booking time received during the day. Even though we were in the right he never apologised and allocated us an upstairs table for 4; we all know this is usually for reserved seating. So, review point number 1, don't rely on their online booking system! Sitting down we ordered starters and mains from the menu. The waiter was wonderful by the way. The octopus for 2 was disappointing. Beautifully displayed but all "form over function" with a bland taste made worse by the saffron drying out the plate. The beef carpaccio was very good but the tuna tartare only adequate. Mains had 2 out of the 4 of us choosing taglioni with clams. Again more "form over function" with a ridiculous serving plate and small portion size with little delicacy or flavour in the taste. For 24euros I expect an epic dining experience. The ravioli stuffed with various meats was excellent but the stuffed papadelli (not sure this is truly possible) with ricotta and mushrooms was like eating plaster, thick glutinous sauce with little taste. My wife's experience was made more weird by discovering a 3cm root in her dish, clearly a foreign object not from ingredients. They did exclude this from the bill. So, review point number 2 don't expect great Italian food from this restaurant. Overall, I would not return to this restaurant. The food is poor value for money and overly complex. If you want attentive service and outstanding food go to restaurant Nacarat further up the street where it is cheaper, a more interesting and delicious menu and importantly met with a...

Sóller, Tuesday night. Luna 36. A place you book for the terrace, for the stone walls, the open air, and the quiet promise of something good. We settle in, order sparkling water. It takes a bit to get the wine list. I ask about a local white, something called Veritas, around €46. The waitress tells me it goes with everything: fish, meat, you name it. She doesn’t know the grape. Doesn’t know the producer. Tells me it’s “not too sweet, not too dry.” A shrug in a bottle.

The wine is… fine. That’s it. And that’s a theme.

We start with brioche, anchovies, and truffle. Forty minutes to arrive. Forty. And when it does, it’s fine again—but nothing’s worth that wait, least of all that. Then the main course. I order tagliolini with clams, hoping for briny silk and fresh pasta. What I get is sea-floor chewiness and the flavour of regret. It goes unfinished after a couple of forkfuls. My wife’s ravioli—pork, rabbit, veal—is better. Still not good. And the wait? Over an hour. For pasta.

We skip dessert—no time left—and ask for the check. I mention the food didn’t taste good and the service took far too long. She says again, “We’re busy.” That’s the best she can do. No apology, no effort. We pay €118. No tip. Around the corner, we get €6 ice cream, and the vendor tells us about the flavours and makes recommendations. More passion and interest in 30 seconds than Luna 36 showed all night.

Luna 36 has the look. Instagram will love it. But if you care about food, avoid it. I get a sense that this wasn’t a case of a kitchen overwhelmed. It was just a restaurant that thinks it doesn’t have to try. Style over substance,...

Paid EUR120 to reserve a table during the day for the same evening which I thought was a bit steep but increased anticipation levels looking at the reviews and interior. It is lovely inside with nice table lights and firepits in their courtyard where we were sat (table of 4). Once we sat down it all went downhill....had to ask for everything ie 20 mins go by so I get someone's attention to order water then had to ask for menus then had to ask for drinks (wine etc) then service for food ordering etc etc you get the point, all a bit annoying for such a well regarded restaurant. Two of us ordered the clams as a main course then 30 mins later were told the clams are off, why so late? so hurriedly re-order and then the food takes about 40 mins (its just pasta at the end of the day ??!). During this time we have ordered 2 more bottles of wine again having to ask for service each time. By this time I'm getting annoyed and tell a chap at front of house that we just want to be looked after. When the food finally turned up it was extremely average, bland, unappealing so having had enough I wanted to make a complaint which was batted around the staff to take responsibility, at one point I was asked if I wanted to complain to the chef ? I said yes if he was the manager, at which point denial and deflection starts again. We got some money knocked off the bill which was not the point but essential. This is a tourist trap !! Like I said at the top it's lovely inside but sort your staff and cooking out !! Lots of other great...

The ambiance of this restaurant is so lovely with a covered outside terrace at the back of the restaurant with stone walls. It's truly a beautiful place to eat. We wanted to come after seeing fresh pasta being made in the window. Unfortunately though the dinner menu did not have the vegetarian pesto pasta option we'd seen from the lunch menu and they were unable to make it for us. There was only one vegetarian pasta option for dinner and it wasn't a particularly good one, so a very limited menu. The pasta was strangely quite dry (almost as if not cooked by boiling) with not much sauce/olive oil and overpriced at €24. Call me basic but it would be good to have a traditional option of pomodoro/arrabiata and pesto on both lunch and dinner menus. We shared the eggplant parmesan starter which was great. The tiramisu was made the traditional way and also nice. The wine menu didn't have any tasting notes or description so we gambled on a local Mallorcan white which was nice but not what we would usually prefer to drink as it was quite oaked. The waitresses were all superb. Extremely friendly, happy to help and cheerful even under the pressure of a busy evening. Overall, an enjoyable meal but we couldn't say it was quality enough to be worth the high price tag.

One of the best in Soller, wonderful option for a couples dinner. The terrace is gorgeous and the service makes you feel like you’re at a top restaurant. We enjoyed the starters more than the mains! I would recommend the octopus. The scallops were also very fresh and cooked perfectly. The presa iberica (pork) dish was underwhelming and way too sweet (and I love sweet!) - the garnish of all the veg didn’t add much either, it was very one dimensional. The beef was much better and cooked well. The dessert was incredible, one of the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. One issue was the insects - I know they can’t control this so it’s not reflected in my review but just an important fyi! I wish I had bug spray on my legs because I got several bites from these small black flies. They were also quite irritating in your face and sadly took away from the ambiance. Regardless, I’d wear long pants next time and definitely go again!

I arrived in Sóller after three days of hiking and camping. After a quick shower I checked TripAdvisor for restaurant recommendations and found this place close by my apartment. The waiter gave me some looks since I was clearly underdressed, but I got a table (if you are more than one, I highly recommend pre-booking) and all waiters were super friendly and spoke perfect English. I had Gambas and Sepia as starters and followed the local wine recommendation. The sepia in its own ink was out of this world. As a main I had the Iberian Pork with Sellerie and Apricot Mouse. Very delicious, the meat was perfect medium on the inside, but a little burnt on the outside. The cheese board with Veritas (sweet dessert wine) was excellent again with a great variation of cheese (not only local ones). Overall I would give 4.5 stars. Since this is not possible, I have to round up ;) overall, I had a great and delicious night.
