La Nonna — Restaurant in Salou

Visited this place a while ago with some friends on a day trip from Barcelona to explore small gem cities along the Catalan coast.

Honestly, eating at this place just made that experience 10 folds better! I wanted to try some local food, but since we were a group, our server, May (I hope I'm writing it correctly) recommended us to have the 100 cm pizza and OMG the way we feasted on it!

Besides the delicious food, chill ambience and nice music, May was the main highlight of the restaurant in my opinion. Her friendly interaction with us all and the service was exceptionally good and very warm and welcoming. She seemed like she really enjoys her work and it's very difficult to find workers like that who work with all their heart and also bring joy to others even in such demanding jobs that not just exhaust the body but also exhaust the mind. With her interaction style she could've sold everything on that menu to us and we still wouldn't have wanted to leave hahah. But the sounds of waves and the breeze were calling us strongly from the beautiful beach nearby.

Would definitely go to eat at La Nonna again just for that superb service when I visit...

After reading so many good reviews we were very excited to try this place, well we was welcomed by the manager who sat us down, A grumpy server came and took our drink order and as we just sat down we didn't know exactly and it was almost like we were holding him up! We chose and then a short while later he came back for our food order we ordered and then he just walked away he was so hostile it was uncomfortable. I think being a young couple he must have thought he wouldn't get a tip so put no effort it what so ever. He walked past the table and slid a jar of sauce at us which again was super rude and strange. Our food came and the nachos were really below average for €15. My partner ordered the chicken burger which was €17 and it was the cheapest battered frozen chicken it was unbelievable! I thought with it specialising in pizza i would get the mexicana which had zero flavour at all it was so disappointing! On exit the manager was really grateful and nice to us it was such a shame his staff were not and the food did...

Wow where do I start….. 💛🤩 super cute restaurant, wasn’t pressured into coming in, which can get tiresome after a while… such a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

The service was top quality, we got a super friendly waitress called Mei who just made our experience. She has amazing communication and such a nice personality.

The food. 🥘 such a good selection! Perfect for everyone, such nice options and super presentational. I got the carbonara 2/3 times we visited and is DEFINITELY the best pasta I’ve ever had. Came back 3 times because it’s a safe and easy option. Such a quick experience even when there was 7 of us ordering.

Reasonably priced, average meal + alcoholic drink is €23 ish.

Been to Salou 9 times now and this is my favourite place, from our lovely waitress, quick service, delicious food and the delightful atmosphere.
