Cactus Faro & Toro — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

We sat down 7:30 ISH one evening at the Cactus faro, we had dined earlier elsewhere thankgod, so we just wanted deserts after a walk around the faro lighthouse, I ordered the helado melba, like a peach Melba on the menu photo and the wife ordered Espeial Cactus, when the deserts arrived the looked very different from the menu photos, I soon discovered there were not any peaches in my Melba and the wife almost choked on a piece of white hard plastic, we were not even half way through our deserts, I called over the waiter and showed him , with his grinning in my face attitude I said I will not pay for the deserts only our drinks, he went back to the bar and arrived with a tea plate of peach slices, I refused them and said my wife almost choked on a lump of plastic, there could be some in my desert, he didn't even try to apologise, he just demanded payment as if it wasn't their fault, so I paid by card so not to tip him and left, we have never had anything as bad or been treated like that anywhere, disgusting , people on tables around us looked on, and one couple even followed us and offered to return with us to demand our refund, but that's not us, we rarely wake a fuss, but they were not going to return to the cactus faro for the rest...

Great restaurant in Maspalomas Beach. We had a table with the ocean view and it was lovely. This restaurant has the most authentic and delicious garlic bread we ever tasted and the homemade alioli sauce? Was to cry for more, ABSOLUTELY delicious. As main dishes we asked for lasagna and pork chops and the lasagna was so good, it tasted so homemade and the tomato sauce was very good. Everything in this restaurant was delicious, we drank some piña coladas that tasted amazing. The staff was amazing and at the end of our meal they offered us a shot of their Ani Rum that was delicious. I’m so sad we don’t have time to go back to this...

The food was as expected on Gran Canary Island. No love and only for money purpose. Kinda pricy for the area, which would’ve been ok if the quality matched. We ordered pizza, it’s the most tasteless pizza I’ve tried in my life. Was asking the waiter if it was real cheese, he replied it was a local cheese but didn’t know what it was. Definitely not mozerella though. Bland and tasteless. Waiters didn’t really care, so the whole experience was a solid 4/10, or I guess for Google...
