A true hidden gem in Maspalomas! I honestly had given up hope of eating anything truly good on Gran Canaria. Every day of this holiday we’ve been trying different restaurants – even some of the most elegant and stylish ones – and every time the food was disappointing: bland, rubbery, or simply bad. Even in our hotel, the meals were nothing special. I was convinced it was just impossible to eat well on this island.
Then we found Il Posto – and what a surprise! The restaurant itself looks very modest and unassuming, hidden among a row of rather ordinary seafront places. I wasn’t expecting much… but the food here completely changed my mind. It’s run by Italians who really cook with authentic Italian products, and you can taste the difference in every bite.
The arrabbiata was absolutely delicious, the pizzas excellent, and the focaccia spot on. I especially recommend the tagliata – it was honestly the best meat I’ve had here, tender and full of flavor, unlike the tough, tasteless dishes we’ve had elsewhere.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
If you’re in Maspalomas and you actually want to eat good food, this is, in my opinion, the only place to go. A wonderful surprise in the most unassuming of spots. Highly...
Read moreWe went as a group of seven for a casual dinner, and it ended up being disappointing. While the service was friendly, it felt a bit superficial focused more on overselling than delivering quality. The pizzas were mediocre, and the pasta was bland and uninspiring.
The biggest letdown was the verbal recommendation of a bottle of Barolo from Piermont, which was presented as costing 17 euros. To our surpise, it appeared on the bill at 70 euros. When we spoke to the owner, we were told that the 17 euros referred to the per glass price, and therefore, the bottle’s price was 70 euros. This explanation felt out of place for a restaurant with plastic stools, neon lights, and offering 12-euro pizzas. We certainly didn’t expect a 17-euro glass of wine in such a setting.
Intentional or not, it felt like we were being taken advantage of. I can’t recommend this place and definitely won’t...
Read moreWe recently visited IL Posto for a family lunch, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we walked in, Senador and the rest of the team made us feel right at home. The service was warm, attentive, and truly impressive, matching the authenticity of the food.
We originally came just for our daughter’s lunch and ordered spaghetti and a Margherita pizza to share. Both dishes were delightful, with rich, fresh flavors that transported us straight to Italy. The pizza, with its perfect crust and simple yet flavorful toppings, was so good that we couldn't resist ordering a second one on Senador’s recommendation. His choice was spot on!
If you're craving real Italian food, this little gem is a must-visit. The service, the atmosphere, and the food all combine to create a truly authentic dining experience. Highly...
