La Azotea del Velero — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Went for dinner, 2 people at 7.30, almost missed the sign for the place, it is nestled between many other not so good places with keen reps trying to get you in, this place is different.

We were the only people upstairs, so had a great view, staff were very welcoming but not overbearing and it still felt like a nice experience.

Bruschetta was given at the start as a welcome, very tasty and a good sign.

Starter - We had prawns in garlic ( gambas pil pil) good size and amount of prawns and loads of beautiful garlic, side rolls were decent too. This dish was perfect for 2.

Mains

I had mixed meat kebab, beef was good, chicken a little on the fatty side but the decen bits were tasty, side dips nice and vegetables were tasty, none of it over salted.

Wife had chicken escalope with Canaries potatoes. Potatoes were superb, soft, salty and oiled perfectly (not soggy/saturated) the escalope was a good size but had been overcooked slightly, still ok but a bit hard. Had it been a golden yellow with a bit of a crunch this would be a 10/10 dinner.

A true gem – Warm welcome and great atmosphere

We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we went back two days in a row! The service is welcoming and friendly, with a staff that is both smiling and attentive.

The place has a lovely surprise: a small, quiet upstairs dining area, offering a peaceful ambiance despite the entrance being located in a busy and touristy alley. Once seated, you get to enjoy a beautiful sea view, which makes the experience even better.

And the value for money? Absolutely outstanding! Delicious, well-prepared dishes at more than reasonable prices for the quality offered.
