La Terraza by El Oasis — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Let me immediatly start with the best aspect of this restaurant: The Service. The Service is one of a kind - very welcoming, caring and kind. Especially as foreigners (and muslims) we felt very welcomed and appreciated by the staff that showed us respect and hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and had a smile on their face, which made the ambience of the place a tenfold better. The waiter recommended us the fresh fish. It costs 35€ per person but very well worth it - it was a very tasty and indeed fresh fish we enjoyed eating! Dietary needs are also taken into great consideration here!

After our main menu we had some ice cream for dessert, which is the only thing we would not recommend as it was not worth it's price since it was lacking immensly in taste and was not very enjoyable. At least, this is our personal preference.

Other than that everything - especially the staff - was exceptional and we would definitely recommend this place after a nice day...

AFTER VISITING LA TERRAZA I CAN SAFELY SAY THAT ALMOST ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS PLACE ARE FAKE. That was a disappointing experience for us. All issues started at the stage of ordering drinks. Instead of black tea they brought us green tea in a tiny cup (used for serving espresso). And this happened because of restaurant’s employees poor command of the English language. Then we were served two dishes: chicken breast with salad (as a salad there was a mix of salad leaves with 2 slices of tomatoes without any dressing and 3 pieces of grilled chicken). Another dish was squid tips (it was a big plate with tiny deep-fried battered squids), and as a side dish we ordered extra portion of fries. As for the squids I felt a bitterish taste and in my opinion 14,50€ for this dish (fries were extra paid for) is quite costly. WOULDN’T RECOMMEND VISITING THIS PLACE. Very disappointed with everything. The waiter appeared pleasant enough and recommended the grilled fresh fish (€34), which was just what I was looking for, however, when it arrived it was the whole fish, head, tail, fins everything, but worst of all was the huge amount of bones, apart from the large ones down it's spine, there were hundreds of fine one's. I did my best to eat it and when the waiter asked if I'd enjoyed it, I mentioned that I wasn't expecting to be served the whole fish he said "oh you should have said, I'd have filleted it for you"... thanks! Why didn't he ask this when I ordered?
