Aggressive "Owner" Ruined What Could Have Been a Lovely Evening
We were really looking forward to our meal here, and while the evening began well, it ended in an incredibly unpleasant way — all over something that should have been minor and easily resolved.
I ordered a dish that listed plantain as one of the components. When the food arrived, the plantain was missing. I politely asked about it, and instead of any apology or explanation, a plate of potato chips was brought out some time later as a replacement — again, without any comment.
I mentioned to the waiter (who turned out to be the owner) that had I known the plantain wasn’t available, I wouldn’t have ordered the dish. Rather than apologise, he became argumentative, fetched a menu, and asked what was missing. I repeated myself, explaining that the issue wasn’t just the missing item, but the lack of communication.
At this point, the situation escalated dramatically. The owner raised his voice, became aggressive, and started swearing — even threatening violence. He shouted about how we were on “his island,” despite my efforts to remain calm and ask him to lower his voice. It was completely disproportionate and very upsetting.
Two staff members did later apologise for his behaviour, which we appreciated — but the damage was done.
This was a deeply disappointing experience, not just because of the food, but because of the hostility and aggression from someone representing the establishment. There are so many warm, welcoming places on this beautiful island — I strongly recommend...

First visit so only had drink but we will be back to try breakfast lunch and dinner before the end of our holiday. Very friendly and polite staff. Went back next morning for breakfast. Interesting menu. I had a boccadillo with chicken, gouda, bacon, avocado and mayonnaise which was delicious and a cappuccino. My partner had eggs benedict with bacon served on what can only be described as a door stepslice of bread and lemon tea which he also described as delicious. The food was very filling and neither of us will be...
