I visit Bollywood Indian Restaurant few days ago. Short review is amazing and definitely worth to visit at least once.
Food very tasty and have different choices for different taste. The menu is very easy to understand and gives you a lot of information, staff is very lovely and helpful, if you don’t understand terminology or names, they are there for you, they will explain you and give you good advice. I like that they have different levels of spicy hot , if you don’t like spicy food-that is not a problem- just choice mild - and again if you like hot food they have options for you- which I never try but is called OMG.
As starter I had papadons with 3 dips. (Sorry no picture as I was very hungry that day) And onion bandji ( great taste) I had chicken curry( spicy hot) as main and I was well surprised when I had my first bite, first couple of seconds you don’t feel the hot, but after that come to me very gentle, I love it . ( if you like Nando’s hot, so that option is for you too, just small touch hotter)
The only downside for me was that tables are too way close, not because of covid or something, in general too close , you can hear what table next to you whispering. Which I find out , that the stuff remember their regular customers, that is really nice and so personal. Keep doing that.
And another downside for me personally was the price. But that is my own personal view. I’m not rich and €50 for dinner for two for me is way bit expensive. Probably the owner is well aware of that because after you pay you bill they give you 15% off your next visit.
I really want to go back and have one more time good experience of nice and tasty food but unfortunately I can’t afford it.
However. Really good place. If you can go and visit- I promise you, you won’t be...
Read moreI usually go out for a curry on a Friday night and staying in an All Inclusive hotel in Bahia Feliz wasn't going to change things. A bit of research on Google Maps and the rave reviews suggested the family and I should give it a try. My hotel made the booking as I wanted to check a few things including if they had air con which they said they had. When we arrived they couldn't find the booking and it was apparent that they didn't have air con, unless sitting on an open air patio next to the pavement and road qualifies. It wasn't a particular pleasant setting and they didn't have indoor seating. They sat us close to the building but there was no air and it was far too warm. Surely they could take some measures to mitigate the heat, I suggest a fan would be a start. They brought us a dirty baby chair which we asked them to clean, unfortunately that didn't go down well with the waitress. Sadly it didn't look any better when it came back. We ordered our meal with what seemed to be the chef/owner. We enjoyed the poppadoms, onion bhaji and sheekh kebab starter. Likewise our 19 month old toddler with her curry, chips and rice. He suggested that their food would be on the hot side for us so we ordered a selection of mild, medium and hot main courses. Unfortunately I found no difference between the hot and the medium, and we could have easily managed them hotter. The chicken was good in all the dishes but I noted that my preferred chicken tikka wasn't on the menu. Nothing wrong with the sides but they were nothing special either. Whilst we enjoyed the meal, the heat, setting, service, plus the toilet arrangements didn't make it a...
Read moreTL;DR: This would be a great restaurant if the owner acted like they wanted people to eat there.
The best thing about this restaurant is the food. It's good quality and tasty, and for that reason we went here twice.
Unfortunately the great food is marred by a number of bad things: The owner was more interested in dissuading us from eating here than welcoming us. On the first night we were bluntly told we would have to wait for 25m for food, even with a half empty restaurant, and did we really want to wait. (I didn't see a problem with 25m wait tbh). We were lucky, other parties arriving for a table were ignored so long they walked off, including people who had seated themselves. The 2nd visit, we got there at their advertised opening time of 4pm, they weren't open and the owner demanded we make a reservation rather than just returning later. Some portions are tiny. The starters, particularly the sharing platter, is hardly big enough to share and, bizarrely, the vegetarian mains are served as half a dish, but charged as the same price as a meat based main. One of the waiters actually applauded us when we finished and paid relatively quickly, as though it was some miracle.
This is all very bizarre. If you want to run a successful restaurant then being polite and welcoming to your guests...
