OMG.
Usually I don't write reviews, let alone negative ones... but this time I have to warn people as much as I can because I felt bad and sick.
I arrive in this place, alone, around 21:20 and I order immediately.
In the room there are just two tables occupied: mine and another one with 4 people... These 4 tourists are almost finished, and they soon leave. I see the waiter smiling to them, but when they turn and exit he make a really agry and disappointed face, and this worries me a bit, but I decide to order anyway (not knowing what happened)a nd I ordered these things:
Papadum: good, but sauces had almost nothing to do with India. Diluted, chinese style... meh.
Veg Pakora (arrived after 35 minutes: at 22:05): were ok, maybe a bit tasteless (a bit more salt, but that's ok)... but see Aftermath below.
I wait and wait... and in the meantime I see a waiter getting in the kitchen and eating directly from... looks like a kitchen pot... a cooking pan? I hope I am wrong, and I keep waiting patiently. After almost one hour (50 minutes: food arrived at 22:20), just because I started turning my head many times towards the kitchen, my curry and my Cheese naan appear:
Cheese naan: it comes with garlic. I had just asked for a simple cheese naan, but that's ok. Problem is that it has been heated in the microwave, resulting too soft, spongy and raw. I manage to eat half of it.
Palak Paneer (my favourite Indian dish: I often prepare it myself) tastes really strange, and I am feeling uncomfortable and suspicious now. I try it, and I realize that the Paneer cheese cubes are cold inside: they probabily have been taken from a fridge... but how can they be still cold after 50 minutes of me waiting here and them cooking?!
Aftermath: now it's 0:30 and I am writing this out of anger, because I am feeling bad, I have bellyache and other unpleasant consequences that you can imagine... These people will NEVER again see my...
Read moreWe have lived in Tenerife for almost four years and this has been our worst experience ever. The food was nice, but we have felt completely ripped off and our evening was ruined. We came to have a three course menu which was advertised on a flyer left on our car windshield. We ordered the starter and the main course. When we asked for the third course, we were told that bread or rice is the third course. I told them that from my waitressing years I know it is a side dish, not a third course. The waiter than gave us a small plastic cup of ice cream. When he brough the bill he added tax of 2 eur, even though the menu specifically stated that tax is included, both on the flyer and on the menu. He refused to back off and in the end we paid the two euros because we did not want to cause the scene. What a rip off, avoid if you do not want to be charged for things you...
Read moreI went out planing to have a nice curry! What I got was so much more!
The smells as I sat down in the Taj was a great sign of what a was to come.
To start I had 2 pomidoms with dips followed by a Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup which was absolutely delishus.
Then I was recommended a lamb dish which I ordered with a gupati. The whole meal was fresh full of flavours smells and textures from start to finish. It was a moment to savour and was my best meal by far in San Blas.
Not wanting to ruining a great meal by over eating and I certainly didn't intend to leave such a delight so I asked them if they could bag up my remaining meal for me to take away. They happily followed my request.
Finishing my meal with a complimentary peach liqueur or Shnapps.
Great value meal with great service I will without doubt eat here again! Very...
