CURDELÓN — Restaurant in San Sebastián

We were looking forward to returning to Curdelón after a visit a few days earlier — unfortunately, this second experience was deeply disappointing.

From the outset, we were met with a lukewarm welcome. After that, we were left with empty glasses and plates for an unreasonably long time, with no attention from staff — who, instead, remained engaged in conversation with guests at the bar while the rest of us were visibly waiting for service.

We had intended to order another round, but the prolonged lack of attention made us decide to leave instead. When asked how things were, I gave an honest response: the wines were good, but the service was lacking. The only reply was a curt and dismissive "ok," delivered with no apology or acknowledgment — a response that perfectly captured the tone of the whole evening.

At the end of the day, good service, basic manners, and care cost nothing — but they make all the difference. You can have a great product, but without the hospitality to match, the experience falls flat. What could have been a lovely evening was soured by a total absence of warmth, attentiveness, and basic...

We were really looking forward to visiting, but unfortunately the experience didn’t meet even basic expectations. After our first glass of wine, we were left waiting for nearly 40 minutes for another. Despite the bar being quiet, the service was incredibly inattentive, and we eventually gave up and left.

When we politely mentioned the issue while paying, the waiter responded with surprising arrogance and zero acknowledgment of the delay. It was a frustrating end to an already underwhelming visit.

With so many great wine bars in San Sebastián, this one just doesn’t make the cut. I’d recommend spending your time and money somewhere that values...

Had the most fantastic wine tasting experience here with my family. I believe our wine guide was called Nora and she was full of knowledge and fun facts about the wines and their producers. We tried 5 white wines from the region and got snacks like ham, anchovies and a cheese platter. Delicious and the wine selection was amazing. In itself, the wine shop has a big selection of high quality wines and is aesthetically very pleasing. Thank you for having us, will be back...
