Hawaii Donostia — Local services in San Sebastián

Just had the worst service here I’ve ever experienced in any store. My boyfriend and I went in because he wanted to try out and buy a wet suit. I speak Spanish but he doesn’t so he greeted them in English and we all kept speaking English. He tried out two wetsuits and sweated a bit (who doesn’t when trying out a wetsuit in summer?) and then decided to buy one. I then overhear one of the Spanish girls who works in the store talking badly of him in a really rude way, because she thinks that I don’t understand, and then she gets so mad that she has to walk out the store (??!). I asked the American girl who worked there (who also spoke Spanish and was really nice to us all the time) in Spanish if the other girl was annoyed and she answered something to smooth over the situation. I’ve just an excellent 3 days surfing in Donostia/San Sebastian and largely thanks to all the crew at Hawaii Donostia. I’m an experienced surfer (37 years) and I wanted to rent a board for my stay. I had my own wetsuit, but the rental suits were good quality too. The staff were really helpful & made it very easy - I had an open contract, so I could change boards with the conditions. Started with a really nice Firewire MannKine on the first day which was so nice to ride in the punchy 3-4 foot surf. I even took out a soft top to help teach my friends who’ve never surfed before - we all had a blast. They have a good range of top quality boards to suit all surfers. 3/5: I came with my wetsuit on, ID and mobile. It is quite awkward discussion that they will not rent foam board because they will not lock money on mobile card (few to choose from). It is first of all 21st century and you can lock money from mobile cards. Also quite strange was her summary that her board cost 800euro? Funny amount considering that I suggested locking that on card, newest top iPhone for 2k Euro and ID. Sorry I will not settle mortgage for foam board...
