We had a reservation for 8 people in which we called to book a table for that. On the call we the lady didn’t say anything about what we could order to eat on the day. Fast forward to the lunch we arrived and the waitress was the opposite of nice which is exactly what you can’t be when you are working with the people that will buy your product. We asked for the menu and she gave us a lunch menu which included a main dish, dessert and appetizer for 21€. We saw there was also pintxos or tapas in another menu that was not given to us. So we decided what we wanted to eat with that list in consideration. When we were ready to order we started to say we wanted some of those tapas and the lady in a rude way said she would not let us have tapas because we had a reservation (we were never informed of that on the booking call). So basically she wanted the 8 of us to have the 21€ menu that none of us wanted or were informed that we were almost obligated to order that to eat there. After this we said we would not eat there and we were leaving because we were not informed before of any of this and we would pay the things we ordered until that moment. Then the lady that answered the reservation call had the audacity to tell us in a rude way that we were wrong and that she had indeed told us on the call that she had specified the “rules” to eat there. Ridiculous attitude and we recommend to everybody not to go there if you don’t want to have a bad experience that could ruin...
Read moreThank god we DO speak some spanish.... :) We went to grab some dinner - and met the 'infamous' old bartender... Carlos the Jackel !! (Just a made up name)... Which was a little bit harsh at the beginning, but after we had some beers and flashed our broken Spanish- he was content and let us stay :) Food is nice - classic tapas of course (pinchos), decent local beer (no imported unfortunately), current football match on all screens, and nice atmosphere of local patrons aging 50-70 who seems to be always happy and cheerful (with red cheeks of course). I would recommend to come untill 1800 if you want to grab food - or at 2030 since the kitchen is closed in between. Don't be scared of the Jackel - work on your...

My wife and I went to breakfast at this restaurant serving typical Basque and Spanish cuisine. Located in the Old Town of San Sebastian, it's elegant and very refined.
