KAPELA TABERNA — Restaurant in San Sebastián

(English below) Aquí no se puede ir y aún menos con niños porque te tratan extremadamente mal si te lo llevas al baño. Mi hijo tenía necesidades como cualquiera pero porque no le tarda 2 segundos, como a la mujer mayor que trabaja allí, según ella hemos estado "30 minutos", pues no tenemos derecho de estar. Ha venido, sin exagerar, 5 veces en 3min, a tirar de manera muy agresiva la manilla de la puerta y contestando de forma muy desagradable cuando he dicho que estaba ocupado. Incluso cuando íbamos a salir, al lavarnos las manos, estaba tirando la manilla. Pero obviamente cuando hemos abierto la puerta, no estaba. No quería afrontarme pero fuera estaba hablando mal de nosotros a toda la gente. Hemos ido a tomar una copa tranquilamente en familia, los niños se estaban comportando muy bien pero esa mujer nos ha hecho sentirnos extremadamente indeseables. Se ha ido a varias mesas para hablar mal de nosotros y "si el niño está mal.." por inventar cosas. No se si ha decidido tratarnos así porque nos ha escuchado hablar ingles sin saber que vivimos aquí pero aún así, es incluso peor si es su motivo.

And for those who don't speak Spanish, do NOT go there. We went for a quiet drink with our 2 small children who were behaving really well. Our 2 year old needed to use the bathroom like anyone else, but he was uncomfortable not being at home. After a few minutes the older woman who seems to be the owner, at least she works there to our surprise, came and started pulling the handle in a very agressive way, telling me we had been in there for 30min. Mind you, we had been there for a few minutes. She pulled the handle about 5 times in 3min, and replied in a very rude way when I said it was busy. She kept pulling the handle even when she clearly heard we were coming out but of course, nowhere to be seen when we came out. Outside, I realised who it was when I overheard her speaking about us to other tables. What a way of feeling welcomed... She couldn't confront me obviously because she knew she was behaving like a child. Just do yourself a favour and don't go there. We felt very unwelcomed as soon...

Went to this superb restaurant last week while on holiday with my best pal and my son. Really lovely staff could not do enough for us great food, amazing lamb slow cooked beautiful piquillo peppers, the lovely ladies serving will know who I am as they sold me two tins of their peppers to bring home, every dish we had was delicious spider crab, chulaton steak on the bone divine , Russian salad , Jamon and so many more dishes all brilliant I would highly recommend this restaurant full of local people ,we loved it so much that we went for lunch on our last day. Loved Basque Country and San Sebastián can’t wait to go back and will definitely visit...

We got there just in time, most of the tables had been reserved but the host found a table for me and my family. Everyone was super nice and helpful with recommendations for eating and touring. We loved the food, the solomillo was cooked perfectly, and we specially loved the Salmorejo and the Crystal bread. 100% recommend this place and it’s been added to my list of places that I would love to go back to on my next...
