The staff is super friendly! The coffee is decent, and croissant I had lovely and flaky. It might have been time of the day, or because there was a marathon on the day I visited, but the selection seems a bit limited, and nothing that really would stand out versus other coffee shops/cafes/bakeries... hence the 3 stars. In a nutshell - if you’re there, you won’t be too disappointed... but it’s not somewhere I think you should go out of your way to find.

burnt basque cheesecake has become internationally renowned over the last few years and when we walked past the loaf, we knew we had to try it in its original birthplace of San Sebastián. So so delicious and balanced. Creamy and moist without being over rich and a perfect crust. We still dream of it and will be back next we are in town. We could see that the baker was one of passion and dedication to perfection of the curated selection that they make :)

A hilariously mediocre surface implementation of a generic exposed plywood hipster café that is quite at odds with the Old World vibe of San Sebastian. Got served a lukewarm Americano and the huge forks and plates make the decent cake and brownie slices appear even smaller than they already are. If you're a digital surf nomad looking for metropolitan familiarity, this is your place.

Looks lovely from the outside but once you've been there and try their products it feels like a complete rip off. Bad coffee, bad baked goods and waiters who cannot remember your order after reminding them three times. cheap version of a formula that : The Loaf tries to replicate a formula that seems to have succeeded in other places in San Sebastian but here it doesn't succeed. We come here every year and it was such a mistake to have breakfast here given the abundance of good quality local bars and cafes in the area. Overpriced: 16€ for two coffees, two tiny croissants and two glasses pf fresh juice. Don't waste your time and...
